Welcome to my la-bor-a-tory muhahaha!

MUHAHAHA! YES! YES! IT IS ALIVE!

MY BLOG! IT IS ALIVE!

Well alright then.

I sit here, in my lovely off campus apartment staring down my noodle slurping roommate while the soon to be famous cat, Slinkycat, goes apes over catnip. College, my young prospective Champlain padawans is certainly as good as you may think it is, but not in the American Pie tradition I pictured my freshman year would be like right as I was graduating high school. No my friends, after the smoke of the initial wonders of college clear, not much changes from your old life back home; you still need to study, you still need to eat, sleep, and exercise. However, what makes college great, is that all these things happen on your time, not your parents, not when your brother isn't using the car, not when grandma needs you to mow the lawn.

Your friends come and go, you come and go to your friends places. You sit and talk for a hot-minute or all night, and still manage to read Book One of Plato's Republic for the test tomorrow. It's nice, it's relaxing, it makes the work part of school less like work.

Work. Here's the thing about academic work in college, it's all stuff you came here for, it's all stuff that immediately benefits your life and thoughts--learning stops being a curse word. You'll run out your door for an 8 am class, shouting to your roommates, "I'm going to learn!" with the same excitement in your voice that the sentence "I'm going scuba-diving" would leave your lips on a Hawaiian vacation.

Over and out.
