Visit to the Port of Montreal

So...today along with a group of students and teachers in International Business major, we went to visit one of the largest port in Canada "Port de Montréal." The port is located 1600 km inland. Every year the port handles more than 20 millions of tonnes from vessels that come from around the world. I will encourage anyone who is interested in international trade to visit their website for more information: http://www.port-montreal.com/

THis is a vessel waiting to be unloaded. So the guy who gave us a tour said that they will start to unload it tomorrow and they vessel plan to leave on Sunday. The large vessel that the port can handle at the port of MOntreal, carries 4200 containers.

Here is the carrier, which is a huge machine that moves the container from the truck to the train. That container is 40 feet and probably high cube (9'6 high).
