Just a lil intro!
Hey, I’m Janey, I’m a freshman here at Champlain College. My major is business and I’m also in the BYOBiz program. I’m writing this blog in the school library aka the Robert and Holly Miller Information Commons, but that takes too long to say. I have actually met Robert and Holly Miller, Holly is really nice we had a conversation about Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen and Britney Spears. Anyway, I’m here form Tampa, FL. I always wanted to live up north, so far I really like it. I’m starting to freeze and I keep being reminded how it’s going to get even colder!
You’re probably wondering why or how I ended up at Champlain. I saw it when I was up looking at UVM. The fact that Champlain has a smaller campus and student body really appealed to me. It’s working out really good so far, I know my entire teachers on a first name bases and vise versa. I also was really interested in the BYOBiz program (Bring your own business). I have a company called RoseyPink Cosmetics, sold at www.Roseypink.com that I started at age 15. This program is for students, like me and a bunch of others, with either existing business or real plans to start one. So far BYOBiz has helped me a lot and introduced me to really important people, example, the people that the library is named after, and it is also one of the reasons I was chosen to blog.
I live in the dorm South House, it’s a bit of a walk to campus, but I love it. I have one roommate, who has become my best friend. She is from South Burlington so she introduced me to a lot of people, but I noticed that everyone here is really welcoming and eager to meet new people. Our dorm is really close, since the dorms are renovated mansions its like living in a house and the people in it can become your family. I love it, I’m actually with one of the girls from my floor now. My room is right next to the common room where EVERYONE hangs out and I have to hear EVERYTHING. But they’re pretty good about quieting down if asked. But they really don’t think I have much room to complain when my room is the only one with its own bath tub in the bathroom.. Oh, and I know its not even Thanksgiving yet, but me and my roommate already have lights up in our room and stockings on our door. We’re cute like that.
This was just a little intro. Next time I’ll post some pictures and tell some stories about what’s been going on with me like school, Halloween, Canada, BYOBiz, other random stuff. Kk!
Oh and ask questions so I know what I should talk abouttt.

Hey Marissa,
I have had the site up since I was 15 my step dad built it for me, but I am utilizing the multi media and web building students to change the site to how I would like it to be now. All the money I make goes right back into Rosey Pink, this year is supposed to be our big profit year. South House is actually the name of my dorm. Champlain does not have a Greek life, it's not really big up here. Yes Champlain is a very good school especially if you know what you want to learn and major in. It is a small school, classes are about 20-30 students but that gives you a real one on one connection with your teachers and fellow classmates. I don't mind all your questions at all! Be sure to check out more of the site if you are interested in attending Champlain!

Wow. I dont know where to start. I'm a sophomore in High School and I'm a bit interested in Champlain. But, I'm not 100% sure. It's amazing that you live so far away from home and I'm afraid of leaving Connecticut! How difficult are the classes? I'm interested in starting my own business. But, I would like to know what I might be getting myself into. Thanks for writing the blog. It helps to have an insiders point of view of what goes on in the college.
