Almost sping break!
I should be writing a paper right now, haha, I'll get to that. I was asked what are the pros and cons of going to a small school. I can say a major pro is that the student teacher relations are really close. It's a first name basis, I always feel free to email my teachers to ask about assignments or meetings or anything. Another pro is that you have the opportunity to be a "big fish in a small pond" rather than just another person in a huge crowd. Class sizes are small so you can really interact with the other students and you get the most of the classes. The cons could be that you tend to have classes with a lot of the same people. But with Champlain there are a lot of other schools around like UVM and St. Mikes so you have all the opportunity to meet as many people as you want. I definitely recommend living on campus at least your first year; the best friends that I’ve made are the ones in my dorm.
Champlain does have study abroad programs but you can’t do them until your junior year. There is a Champlain campus in Montreal Canada and there is soon to be one in Ireland. From what I know you can go anywhere you want I know a few kids that have been to or are going to Australia, I personally have plans to go to London.
As far as fashion goes, Annie, we don’t really have a specific fashion major here. I actually was convinced that’s what I wanted to go to school for, I love sewing and I love clothes but I never took the time to make a portfolio. If you’re really set on doing fashion design, which you seem like you are with your idea you want to trade mark, I think you should focus on that, even if you find that Champlain’s not the school for you. I totally support you, and maybe Rosey Pink could do the make up for one of your fashion shows some day. :)
So Champlain had this semi formal dance at the Hilton called the Snow Ball that I went to with a bunch of my girl friends, it was so much fun. We went to American Apparel and bought outrageous dresses and went to the dance and just danced and had fun. Not much else has really gone on. Kerry and I are having problems looking for apartments but were working on it. I work at the Shanty every weekend and I love it. If you ever come up to visit Burlington I strongly suggest you go to dinner there. Well I guess I’ll get to that paper. I love the questions, hope my answers help.
