It's been a while
Hey sorry it’s been so long. I’ve been busy yet nothing new is really going on with me, just school and work and hanging out. I’m about to start my 15 page paper. School’s out really soon! I’m excited for summer. Hopefully I’ll have more to write about next time. For now..
I thought I’d answer some of your questions thought. As far as roommates go I really lucked out with mine, we’re best friends now, I work with her, her parents are like my second parents it’s really great. As far as I know though, there’s no personality thing that puts certain people together, especially this year, there are so many freshman the dorms are going to be full. All the roommates I know though have become really close and get along. You can always try to switch if there is a problem. I know a lot of people who have done that. Either way you will get the opportunity to meet a lot of different people, no one here wants you to be unhappy there will be a way to work it out.
As far as visiting home, Maine is probably a lot easier to get to than Florida, lol. I have only been home twice this school year. I honestly wish I could go home more. I know some kids who go home a lot, like almost every weekend, but they live in VT or like Mass. You can have a car, but you have to get a free pass to park at the Gilbane lot which is about 5 streets down and 4 over from the school and you take a bus there. You cannot have your car in any Champlain lots between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm or you’ll get ticketed. I don’t have a car but people I know get ticketed a lot, you just have to be committed to taking it to the lot on time. Anyway, CONGRATUALTIONS on getting accepted Katie!
Jake from Georgia, how’s the south? Lol. That’s a pretty broad question. What kind of major are you interested in? Champlain College is competitive to get in but what I’ve found they really look for in perspective students is drive and passion. Grades aren’t the most important thing in life, believe me. If you’re really interested in something Champlain offers you should definitely apply and use the essay to show your real personality and prove that you’re excited and willing to work hard. There’s this thing I do called Regional Representatives which just means I get to talk to all the possible students from my region, so if you come in Spring I’ll probably end up meeting you. I probably didn’t answer all your questions, you can ask specifics; I’ll try to get back quicker next time haha.
