Semester's end
So for the past week I was slightly busy with projects and papers. This semester is actually going to be a pretty good one. I think my best one gradewise at Champlain ever. I took 5 classes this semester: Investigative Interviewing, Computer Forensics II, Intercultural Communications, American Literature, and Unix/Linux Server Administration. All classes were good, fun. My favorites though were Investigative Interviewing and American Lit because Interviewing involved practicals where we actually interviewed people who were pretending to be suspects, witnesses, or victims. We used the skills that we learned in class and applied them in the actual practical of the exam. The instructor actually taped the interviews and then graded us on how well we conducted the interview.
I like American Lit mostly because of the professor (Janice Gohm Webster). If you ever have an opportunity to take a class with her, I would suggest it because she takes what could potentially be a dry subject and she puts it in terms that make you think about it. Some of the stuff that we covered could have been incredibly dry, but she made it fun. s
So those definitley are two classes that I would recommend.
At this time, I think its around rolling admission to Champlain. Something that I would suggest to incoming students for this time is to definitely make use of campus tours, ask TONS AND TONS of questions. Write your questions down before you come to the campus, this way you can ask during your information session and then during your tour. You want to know if you'll fit in here. College is about the right fit for you. If you ever have questions, ask me! I check my email like a fiend. So don't be afraid.
Cheers!
Mat
