I never expected to be here in a little town called "Ypsilanti" — or in the United States. I never imagined myself being an international student who was going to be this far away from my hometown of Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand (which is a very crowded metropolitan city). I just expected to go to a Thai university (I was preparing since Grade 9). Finally, I did it, and it was a great moment accomplishing my dream. I was in Chulalongkorn University for three months, and it was wonderful.

Let me tell you why I am in a little town here at EMU. During my last year in high school, my mom just had the idea to get her son studying aboard like she experienced it in United States. She found out about "National Scholarship" (If you want to more about this, click here). She helped me apply for it, and I received the scholarship. How did I feel at that moment? OMG, I was the happiest ever. So, I had to decide which university I would go to: a Thai university or EMU. I chose Eastern.

Honestly, I was scared about living alone here. When I was here at first, I discovered EMU has a very nice campus — and I was more excited than scared. My first and second years were very fun. I have many American and international friends. We hang out a lot — we watch football, play basketball at the REC/IM, go out to dinner, play games, and have fun in our dorm.

Currently, I am a senior majoring in Finance. This is my last year at Eastern, and I will miss it. EMU is like a home to me now and I just like the environment here. It's been a life different from Thailand — and I am glad I chose EMU.

White City

Have you ever seen snow? “YES” for sure if you live in Michigan. But, please think about someone like me, international students, who come from Tropicana countries that never have snowed. I just saw snow when I was here three years ago. I loved it and was very excited, and I believe someone have a feeling the same. To see the entire city becoming white is a wonderful thing for me. And, you will want to make a snowman and play snow bombs like you have seen in movies.

Outside, it's snowing. The entire city is becoming white. However, Michigan this year is very weird. Snow is less than what I expected and experienced last three years. I and my friends usually go play ski and snowboard up north places far from EMU about 20-30 minutes. We went to play in the evening on this past weekend. The Brighton and Alpine Valley closed around 10.00pm. We arrived there in the evening and played until they closed because firstly ticket would be cheaper and secondly less people in the evening.

DUDE, IT IS TIME TO GO OUT AND ENJOY THE SNOW OUTSIDE!!
