Warm Weather

Hello everyone!

I know the last time I wrote it was freezing outside, but today it was 70 degrees! Of course it's quite humid and rainy because the warmth won't last, but I enjoyed it anyway. Let me tell you, there is nothing more exhilerating than running to class in flip flops in February.

Speaking of which, I can't believe it's already February. My last semester is flying by too quickly. Although I could argue that this week might last forever. Whew - I have tests and papers coming out of my ears! I can honestly say I probably won't get much sleep tomorrow night. That's not the professor's fault, just my lack of time management over the weekend. I had too much fun and not enough homework. It's always a struggle to find that balance.

And, the craziest thing of all is that spring break is right around the corner. Our spring break begins Feb. 29! It's good and bad: good because the beaches aren't completely crawling with spring breakers, but that early also means you have to go far south to get warm. This is the current debate for me. It looks like I might be joining a group in Gatlinburg again. I went there for fall break this year, and I might go back! It's a lot of fun there.

Definately one of the best parts of going to school at UE is there are millions of road trip options for students to explore. So many cities and exciting places to see are within 6 hours that students can really travel a lot during their weekends, if they like road trips. I know I try to travel when I can. I've seen St. Louis, Nashville, Cumberland Falls (KY), Mammoth Cave and Gatlinburg. I'm also trying to convince my boyfriend to use the next long weekend we have in the spring to go to Myrtle Beach, which is longer, a 12 hour drive, but still possible with a couple Red Bulls. Also on my list for this semester is Louisville and Indy. I'm a big fan of camping and road trips, if you couldn't tell. Does anyone else have good ideas for me? Of course, the biggest issue with traveling is that you miss out on all the on-campus activities for the weekend. It's a trade off. There are few, if any, dead weekends on this campus.

I hope everyone is having a nice week. Valentine's Day is just next week! Boys, make sure you buy your girlfriend flowers - it's a must on that holiday! Have a wonderful week!
