Where did the semster go!?

Every semester here at Gonzaga University has gone by faster and faster. I feel like I have been here at Gonzaga this semester for about 3 weeks. Now we are 2 weeks away from all going home for a month. This past Tuesday it was ticket distribution for Battle in Seattle. This year Gonzaga is playing UCONN in Key Arena. Seniors had to be at our student center at 7am to have a chance to get a ticket. There were about 350 tickets that were given out. Every senior who wanted a ticket was able to get one. However, after all the seniors who wanted a ticket got one, only 10 Juniors were able to walk away with one. Needless to say it was not fun to see all the juniors, sophomores, and freshmen who had to stand out in the cold and not get a ticket. Sorry guys!!!
This year I am flying home back to Boston a different way. I am going to head over to Seattle for the game on the 20th of December. From Seattle I have a direct flight back to Boston on JetBlue. This is awesome because the direct flight from Seattle to Boston is actually cheaper than flying out of Spokane and transferring flights. I'm so pumped about the next month ahead! This has been the easiest semester I have had here at Gonzaga. I only have one final exam on Monday and that's it. I'm putting in some working hours to make some cash for the holidays. All that means is I get to write to you guys another time before I head over to the other coast. It is always a sweet feeling to land in Boston and have my mom or dad waiting for me. My friends from back in Boston and I have already talked about all the snowboarding we are going to do.
Everyone go crazy for the Zags tonight as they take on Washington State. I'm going to one of my professors house for dinner and to watch the game. His wife is making our class a huge dinner and from what I hear, it is going to be a fun night! If you live in Seattle I better see you down at Key Arena for the big match-up against UCONN!
Merry Christmas and lets go GU!!!!

Thanksgiving plans.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I know I did! I lived the college students dream weekend yet again. I slept, ate lots of pizza, and watched a ton of college and NFL football. But now that the weekends over its finally time to buckle down and get some serious work done. In one of my classes we starting up a fitness center. Our group has been figuring out everything from the cost of the equipment to the salaries of the staff. I had no idea that so many different aspects went into starting up a business. It is a lot of work but very eye opening. Anyways, we have to visit a real fitness center this week and get some information for the project. Today is a big day around Gonzaga's campus. There is a home basketball game with the GU men's team and it is the first regular season game. I went to every basketball game that the men's team had over my first two years but last season I didn't end up going to too many. The guys in our house all agree that its actually just as fun to watch the games together with a lot of friends and food. I'm going to get to more games this season for sure and I'm super pumped for the game against Memphis that we have this season. After the game ends have got a flag football game. oohhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhh!!!! We were the only team to get a first round bye and if we win tonght we are in the championship on Friday at 7pm for Men's B league! Could be back to back championships!!!
Being from Boston and all, it is too much money to travel home for Thanksgiving. Especially not worth it because in just a couple weeks I will be flying home for Christmas. I went to my Aunt's house in Seattle freshmen year. I went to my friend Kev's house in Yakima, Washington for Thanksgiving sophomore year, and last year I went to Darlene's house who is my awesome boss! I hope she reads this...This year I'm not quite sure what I'm doing yet but I'm sure something will fall into place soon....Whelp, time to head home and watch the Zags take on Idaho U.....Go Gonzaga, G-O-N-Z-AG-A!!!!

Along we go...

Last night we won the championship for our co-ed soccer league! We all got our championship t-shirts and took pictures. Being champions of intramurals never gets old. Since it was Sunday, no one on the team was really down to celebrate but I'm sure on Friday it's going down! Team party! Class registration has started and I sign up on the 5th. Registration is always tricky because you have to make sure the classes you sign-up for have not yet been filled up. If there are only a couple openings for a class you need to take than you have got to sign in at 12 midnight on your first date of registration. Sometimes its pretty nerve racking. Being a senior I get to sign-up before most other people so I'm hoping I get all my classes. Last class registration ever at Gonzaga ever! No, I'm not happy about it.
As all of you know, this past weekend was Halloween weekend. Halloween weekend at Gonzaga is always a blast. For Halloween this year I was a cheeto under a couch. So your wondering how I managed that? I dressed up in all orange with a couch pillow duck taped to my head. It eventually started to make my neck hurt so I took it off at the end of the night. The night ended with all of us going to Jack and Dan's. It's a sweet sports bar no less than a block away from campus. Everyone was dressed up and having a great time! Since mid-term week ended I have hardly had any work and this week looks like it is going to be an easy week homework wise. However, work in undergraduate admissions office is as busy as ever! I've been stamping all of your applications and materials as they come in the mail. Looks like there is going to be a big freshmen class next year.
Well I just got a call from my mom. I've been too busy to call her back for the last week, whoops! Don't forget to call your parents. This may seem obvious to freshmen but believe me, by senior year, you are going to forget sometimes!

Introduction

I'm really pumped to be blogging about college life this year. This is my senior year at Gonzaga and I couldn't be more sad about it. I’m from Boston, Massachusetts and I am going to graduate with a degree in Sport Management with a minor in Applied Communication. Everyone always wants to know what I am going to do after senior year. I’m starting to gather ideas but I’m mainly focusing on living up my senior year to the fullest.
There are tons of things I love here at Gonzaga but maybe my favorite of them all over the last four years has been the intramurals. Right now we are in the middle of flag football and soccer season. My friends and I put together a flag football and soccer team every year. This year we are undefeated so far in flag football at 3-0. Our co-ed soccer team is 4-0. I’m hoping to bring home a couple champions t-shirts this year! However, we all know that the biggest intramural sport here at Gonzaga is basketball. Basketball sign-ups are due in a month and people are already starting to get their teams together.
My past here has been nothing short of amazing experiences. The summer after sophomore year, I went to Italy to study abroad (hence my picture with the coliseum behind me) and it was an incredible experience. I have tons of stories and amazing pictures to back it up. To study abroad at some point during college is an experience you will never regret.
I’ve worked in the undergraduate admissions office the last three years and I have met a ton of really awesome prospective students and parents. Some of the students are now here on campus. I’m loving everyday and the days are flying by a little too fast for me. I’m looking forward to talking to everyone and anyone who has questions about Gonzaga University. Have a great week everyone! After my homework tonight I’ll be cleaning my turtle tank. I have two turtles named Pauly (after Paul Pierce) and Winny. Call me corny, but I love them.
