Spring break is rapidly approaching. So I'm sure you are all wondering what I am doing for it?!?! Well I have the answer. My six roommates and I are taking a trip down to Mexico. How are we doing this? We are flying down to Los Angeles on Friday. One of my best friends who graduated last year is going to pick us up at the airport. We are going to have a blast that night visiting with friends at USC. The next morning we are all catching a ship that is going to take us on a 6 night cruise all around Mexico. hmmmmm that sounded great to say out loud....A SIX NIGHT BOAT CRUISE ALL AROUND MEXICO WITH MY BEST FRIENDS! I just got a little carried away but I'm seriously pumped! It is going to be a vacation of a lifetime! Did I mention the two water slides that the boat has on it? I have one word for all of you...sunscreen!....Now that I have bored everyone with my plans for spring break, lets talk about the good stuff. Intramural basketball has officially come to an end for me. I officially have gone 4 years without ever winning a basketball championship here at Gonzaga. Do not ever let that happen to you. I told a couple of my fellow gym rats about that and now I'm known as "that guy." We lost to a team in the semifinals of Men's B league that played like the San Antonio Spurs. They made hardly any mistakes. In the end our team ran out of gas. At least it was nothing like sophomore year when we were knocked out of the playoffs on a half court shot at the buzzer. In co-ed basketball this year we lost in the championship. Naturally! Ben winning a big basketball game and catching a break...nope. If only, If only, If only...that's what I find myself saying to my teammates.
Last night was the last Gonzaga basketball game I will ever go to as a student. It was bitter sweet to go out on a solid win. All of us seniors stood and looked around after the game. How has four years of Gonzaga basketball really gone by since we came in as freshmen with Adam Morrison running the show? It was weird leaving the arena for the last time. Freshmen year seems like yesterday. These have been the best four years of my life so far and I need to stop writing about this...The student worker sitting across from me might give me a weird look if I broke down at the desk. I am that loser that knows I only have 69 days until graduation. I'm going to live it up...The real world is around the corner but first...Mexico and waterslides....
