Career and Networking Day!
Soo,
We had a career and networking day for my sorority recently. It was a really awesome experience to get to meet with different alumni and see what they do for their careers. There were several different break out sessions with information about grad school, employer expectations, salary negotiations, cool jobs, and more! It was so exciting! After the breakout sessions we had lunch where we got to sit and eat with people who were in the careers that we were interested in. I sat with a sister who graduated from UT and now works for a successful law firm in Houston. That was amazing! ;) The best part of the whole day though was when our national president, Marsha King-Grady spoke to us! She is such a fabulous example of being a successful Alpha Chi! I took a picture with her, and for the longest time I couldn't find it on my computer. No worries, I found it now though!

That's Marsha Grady and me! :) sooo excited to meet her!

Here are me and some sisters during lunch!

Ha Kaylie! She's hilarious
This past week was the first week back from Spring Break, and it surprisingly wasn't that bad. It was good to see all my friends and get back into the swing of things. I even missed some of my classes ;) haha. Tomorrow is my birthday and I'm super excited to celebrate with my friends!
Anyway, make it a great week ya'll!!

Back to school, back to school...
Sooo I'm back to school.
My Spring Break was really good.
Nice and relaxing. Loved that.
I ended up just staying in Dallas
and spending time with my family.
I'm so glad that I did. It was seriously
one of the greatest times at home.
Today was the first day back
and I have to say it wasn't so bad.
It literally feels like we just picked up
where we left off, but I guess that's
how it's supposed to be.
Guess who's birthday is in 6 days??
Mine! I can't wait, I feel so old.
All week long my parents kept saying,
I can't believe we have a 21 year old!
Haha they're funny.
How did everyone else's Spring Breaks go??
I would love to hear comments about the
cool and exciting things that everyone did.
Also everyone should definitely be looking
to see when HBU is going to be hosting
AWESOME spring events.
Gorgeous weather, on a gorgeous campus,
with amazing people,,,what more could you ask for?
Haha life is good, but God is great :)
Make it a grand week ya'll!

SPRING BREAKKK!
Oh my gosh, I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy that it's Spring Break! I can defnitely relax now. It's been a fun couple of days. So Friday night, I had Wings n More w/ my girls and we watched a marathon of What Not to Wear! :) Thennnn, on Saturday, I went to the rodeo to see Josh Turner! It was soo great! He's a wonderful performer and he's easy on the eyes...wink, wink. Yesterday, I decided to come home..so I drove, but it's been super relaxing here. I'm gonna go back to Houston on Wednesday and then be even more spontaneous.
Part of me wishes that I had just planned a trip to Florida or something. I'm gonna start planning a trip for Spring Break next year, like now! Haha.
But this past week was crazy. I had so much going on. Midterms, Midterms. Midterms. Enough to make your head spin. But you study hard, and you get through them. I'm so excited about my English Lit midterm...I made a 94! I was so worried about it because it was all poetry, and that is definitely NOT my forte!! So I'm proud of myself.
I want to go to the zoo! I think I may do that when I get back...or I want to go to a museum, or maybe Galveston, or Schlitterbahn!? Idk. So much to doooo!! It'll be funness! ( I know that's not a word!)
But what are everyone's plans for Spring Break?!? I would love to have comments and hear what ya'll are doing! ;)
Make it a GRANDDDD week!

Five.K.
Sooooo....
I feel like my head is spinning, so much has been going on! You know how Spring Break approaches, it seems like all of these little things are due...it all just catches up to you. You can defnitely tell it's Spring Time in Houston though...the weather is soooo pretty (on some days) and then one day it's cold! haha.
This past Saturday, March 7, I ran my first 5K run! Well, I didn't run the whole time, I walked a little lol. It was the Houson Area Women's Center (HAWC) Race Against Violence. It's an annual thing, this is the 21st year that they've done it. I actually went with several of my sorority sisters because Domestic Violence Awareness is our national philanthropy.
Anyway, at first I was a little grumpy because we got there at 6 in the morning. That means I woke up at 5:40!!! I REALLY don't like waking up early. Haha. So we get there and we register, and I get my very own race number! Yes, I'm keeping it...i don't care if it's sweaty :) So then we start the race...there were actually alot of sponsors out there, including Baker Botts, 104.1 KRBE, 103,7 Jack FM and a few others. It was really awesome to see people show up and show support for ending Domestic Violence.
I don't think it could have been a more gorgeous day either. It was PERFECT for running...cool enough to where we weren't overheated, but hot enough to wear shorts and a tank! Overall, I had such a BLASTTTT!! I'm definitely going to be doing more runs, it was awesome!! I think running is going to be new thing...I'm gonna be a runner! :)
I can't wait until HBU does their Husky Hustle. That's a run that several organizations from HBU have put on...I'm definitely looking forward to it now!! Wahooo!
Here's a picture after we were finished with the race!

If I can find out who took more pictures during the race, I'll upload them.
Make it a great week!

Senior Night!
So this last Thursday night we had our HBU Senior Night for the men's basketball team. It's always bittersweet because it's like you're happy that you're graduating, but you're sad that you're done playing College Basketball (not that I would really know, cause I'm not a b-ball superstar or anything cough, cough).
It was a good game. We played Southwestern Assemblies of God (SAGU) and we won! Yayyyy dogs up!! :) Going to HBU games are some of my favorite things to do, whether it's soccer, basketball or baseball...it's always a fun time. I love how it's like one big family is coming together. Plus you really get to know the players as opposed to a larger school where you just watch them from a distance. I can honestly call the guys my friends :)
Here are some pictures from the game...

Lil Justin dribbling the ball down the court...about to make the play!

Yay for the adorable Mascot Dance the dance team performed!!

Lauren and Me cheering on our huskies

HBU tradition of singing the Alma Mater on the floor after every game. Dogs Up!
So we have 2 weeks until Spring Break and I'm soo excited! I'm just ready to have a week off of school! Wahoo!!
Make it a fabulous week, and GO HUSKIESSS!!
