Nina targetx One word. GLEE. What is it some may ask? My answer, perhaps one of the greatest shows to come on tv since Friends. Glee is a comedic satire that brings the light to what glee club is about. It is HILARIOUS!! Basically the show follows several teenagers who are going through high school unnoticed and deemed "weird" by their peers for being talented and nerdy. The only kids in glee club at first are weird, but then gradually more of the "popular" kids eventually join. Glee finds a way to address some of the issues that kids really do face in high school, but at the same time it finds a way to include dry humor and good music. Let's just talk about the music for a moment....can we say AMAZING? LIFE-CHANGING?! Hahaha, I literally have downloaded the music before the new episodes premiere so that I'm jamming out when I watch the show! Ha! Let's see, they've done "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey, they've done "Last Name" by Carrie Underwood. They've also performed "Somebody to Love" by Queen as well as "Hate On Me" by Jill Scott. The football players did Beyonce's "Single Ladies" dance as well and that was just fabulous! HAHA! Glee is overtaking HBU too. I've seen people with their own glee shirts, I hear kids singing the songs across campus. Yes, I am one of them ;) It's really cool to talk to my friends as well as other people about what's been happening on the show. Oh you can't even imagine how EXCITED we were when kristin chenoweth appeared on the show! I almost fell out of my seat! Next up, I'm waiting for Idina!!! :) Anyway, Glee is definitely amazing. Nina targetx This is my pretty, pretty sister Shaida and me!! My robe is so soft! Lol, everyone kept trying to pet me! Hahaha These are some of my super SWEET seesters...Tania, Lesley, and Leanna :o) Rachie and Me...this pretty much sums up our relationship...FUN AND CRAZY!! :o) I love her! So those are some pics from our super fun pajama night. It was great to see everyone so relaxed and comfy...some people even had matching pajamas from HEAD-to-TOE (including slippers...*cough cough* Christa *cough*) ;) On Tuesday, it was my friend Kelly's birthday and so some of her AMAZING suitemates threw her a little party in their suite in the Lakehouse... The birthday girl, Kelly and Me! :) Happy Birthdayyyy! This is Angela and myself..I love her! Look Kelly! Christa and I brought you flowers!!! ;) My friends are CRAZY! Nina targetx Soooooo, This past week I have been so swamped with homework. It's making my head spin. For instance, I'm starting to confuse my schedule. Have you ever done that before? In retrospect, it's actually pretty funny. I do have to say though that I am enjoying what I am learning, and therefore even though I'm stressed about deadlines and all that jazz I can appreciate the goodness of the work. Shhh, don't tell my professors. HAHA! One of the coolest things about school is when the material you are learning in your classes overlap or if you can make the correlations on your own. I LOVE when that happens in my class. Or it's also pretty sweet when you can apply what you learn in your class lectures to your everday life. I'm taking this Political Science course called Ancient and Medieval Political Thought (with Dr. Hammons, one of my FAVORITE professors here at HBU--and no, that's not for extra credit just in case he's reading this...he's actually really legit), but anyway we discuss about how the Ancient Greeks viewed politics and life and I can honestly say that the things I learn in that class I examine my own life with. My friend Christa and I will be talking about random things--boys, work, shopping, whatever...and somehow we find ourselves applying what we learned in Dr. Hammons lectures. It's funny. We catch ourselves saying "it's like Dr. Hammons said in class today.." LOL. Does that make me a huge nerd? Frankly, I don't care :) The whole point of school is to learn and if I'm loving it...isn't that even more towards my benefit?? I'm not gonna lie though, I do kind of miss being right on the edge of the field in the action of the game. We have lights at the soccer field now too!! I'm sooo excited for night games! Nina targetx So this past weekend I came home to Frisco, or my beloved D-town as I should say. My high school had their spring musical production and they put on Dream Girls, so I decided to go. They were sooo cute! I was so proud of them!! It was good to go back and see all of their hard work, and I really enjoyed the show too! It was so weird because so many of the kids in the show--I've watched them grow up and have babysat them. I totally felt O-L-D! After the show I was able to catch up with some old friends who I went to high school with. It was a blasty-blast!! :) :) Last night I went to the movies with my family and we saw Obsessed. It's a new movie with Beyonce and Ali Larter, where this crazy woman stalks Beyonce's husband and family. I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty scared and freaked out in some parts. My mom and I were holding onto each other. Ha! I have to say though, that Beyonce did a pretty decent job. I LOVE her. I am soooo excited that she will be in Houston on July 4. I think it would be pretty sweet to goooo ;) Add that to my concert repertoire! So my flight to Houston leaves tonight at approximately 7:00 pm. I'm seriously praying that it's on time. I hate being at the airports late at night! But overall, I am so so so happy that I came home. It was the perfect little recharge before going into finals! Nina targetx Hello all, So I am so excited for Easter! I absolutely cannot wait for it! I love any type of holiday really, but Easter signifies Spring and new life and the death and resurrection of Jesus. It gets me all sorts of excited! :) This week has been good, but it feels a little rushed since we don't have school on Friday. I'm not complaining though! lol. I know that Student Programming Board (SPB) is hosting an Easter Egg hunt this weekend, so you better believe that I will be out there with myouy basket ready to go! I'm going to New Orleans this weekend to see my bestest bestest bestest friend in the ENTIRE world, Gabrielle. Her entire family is from there and so we're meeting up for Easter. We're gonna go fishing on the bayou, eat beignets at the Cafe Dumond....mmmmmm yum! I will definitely have pictures of that! ;) I can't believe the end of the year is almost here. I registered for my summer classes and my fall classes and it hit me that I will be a S-E-N-I-O-R! Can you believe that, me?!? A senior?!?! I used to watch everyone grow up and think they were all sooo old. Now I'm sooo old lol. I'm sure younger kids and people from back home look at me the same way that I looked at the others, but I guess I never imagined what my life would be like once I got to my 20's. But life is good, and God has been so good to me. I am beyond thankful that his mercy and grace has kept me this far, and He still continues to cover me and bless me. Nina targetx Sooo I'm back to school. My Spring Break was really good. Nice and relaxing. Loved that. I ended up just staying in Dallas and spending time with my family. I'm so glad that I did. It was seriously one of the greatest times at home. Today was the first day back and I have to say it wasn't so bad. It literally feels like we just picked up where we left off, but I guess that's how it's supposed to be. Guess who's birthday is in 6 days?? Mine! I can't wait, I feel so old. All week long my parents kept saying, I can't believe we have a 21 year old! Haha they're funny. How did everyone else's Spring Breaks go?? I would love to hear comments about the cool and exciting things that everyone did. Also everyone should definitely be looking to see when HBU is going to be hosting AWESOME spring events.
