Polar Plunge triathalon.

polar%20plunge%20pool.jpg

Polar Plunge. The coveted competition in which teams face off against each for the ultimate title of "Polar Champs"... Ok there's no title involved but a $200 Visa giftcard for first place is freaking sweet too!!!
The Time...5:00 pm
The Day...Thursday
The Place...Husky village Club House pool
The Weather... Partly Cloudy with overcast skies
The Mood... "thank you can i have another"
(all said in movie announcer voice)

Polar Plunge is a competiton between teams of 4-5 that consists of a triatholn like competition. The first event- Taboo. An intense game testing the bonds of trust and understanding between friends and teamates. Station 2 was a 5 card round of guesstures, and The last leg of the race was a plunge into the pool filled with ice cubes .In this dog eat dog (what does that really mean?) world where the strong conquer the weak, this game was an ultimate test of strength. yeah.... well.... maybe im exagerating just a litte bit about how intense the game was but it was definetly a lot of fun.

There were 4 teams that day. My team was team 3. An all girl team went first and completed
the trial in 4 minutes and 57 seconds... And i thought to myself.. "psssssssssh we can be that"
Team 2 went... 3 minutes 27 seconds.
Team 3... my team... 2 minutes and 20 seconds
Yeah thats right 2:20!!!
but then.........
Team 4...... 2 minutes 19 seconds.........

words cannot describe the dissapointment and crush that we all had felt after losing by ONE friggin second... It was horrible!!! $200 slipped out of our hands and we could say nothing...

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHH

well what's done is done... there's nothing we can do now. We did our best and team 4 did better. Fortunately 2nd place won $50 which we are now going to use to fund our food for our super bowl party.

It's on next year... We're gonna go through some intense and rigorous training regimine and take back what should have been hours!!!

HALO 3...yup it wouldn't be college unless we talked about this!

Halo.jpg

College and online gaming. You'd think the two wouldn't mix... and you're probably right. Yeaaaah it's not just Halo, you've also got your World of Warcraft, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Call of Duty 4, Counter Strike, these are just a few of the addictive online games avaliable to a college kids disposal to escape the harsh realites of due dates, homework and tests!!!

Recently one of my friends purchased and Xbox 360 and halo 3 and got an online account! and ooooooooooooooooh man... i don't know how many a long night we've lost to this game! WIth 4 players and online capatbility we readily played team slayer 4 vs 4! it definetly is a very good friendship bonding experience and full of kicks and giggles! On weekends we can easily go till 4 in the morning, trying to find the sword in order to take down the closest enemy with!!! it can get really intesne!

And it's not just Halo like i said, Brawl was HUGE last year as we all spent endless hours trying to prove how was the best player as we faced off with did one one ones, 4 stock, no items or smash ball, on Final Destination! (God Bless you if you don't know what i just said!!! lol)

Video Games are reidiculously addicting. I had to quit World of Warcraft before i came to college or i can assure you all how badly i would have failed out of college... freshman year! the game is just to perfect, too addicting! With all the video games lying around and people to play them with you really need a stong will power, and good judgement skills to moderate you game play! "Everything in Moderation" is a cliche that i like to live my life by! you gotta know when to play, and when to study! find that balance and you're golden!!!

So remember kids stay in school!!!

Back To Schooolzzzzz!!! Oh Nooooeeszzzz X_x

Well it's that time again. Time for a rousing new Semester to begin here at our very own Houston Baptist University! Happy New Year and be-lated happy holidays to everyone reading this! It's been quite a while since the last post so I am happy to be typing my first post of the year in my Poli Sci class, cuz my teacher hasn't showed up yet!

After a nice LONG break (4 weeks!) it's crunch time yet again. Gotta sharpen dem pencils, bust out your notebooks polish those dancing shoes and get back in the swing of things! (yeah i don't know about the dancing shoes analogy either!)

eerrrrr anywayz... I'll say that waking up today was very difficult! my sleep cycle is sooooooooooooooooo messed up from the vacation! I'd be going to bed at like 3 or 4ish in the morning and waking up at the crack of noon! (or later... yeah.... usually later! =P) So my sleep cycle is way out of whack! and to have an 8am everyday this semester yet again... I'm glad i stocked up on my REM cycles during the break!!!

So I wish everyone a happy semester, as well as the best of luck in this new year!!!
