Husky Review's a coming

Husky Review is on it's way and I'm preparing for it on several levels. Besides the Band, Mercy Rule I am also an officer of FSA which is short for the Filipino Student Association. We've been preparing a hip hop routine for Husky Review. We've been practicing the routine since late last December and have been having practice almost every Friday since January.
We've enlisted the help of local choreogrpher and hip-hop extrodinare, Jay Cooper. Jay's been doing hip-hop dance for a while. A veteran Husky Review Participant, he learned to dance way before he had learned to walk and we are very grateful that he has leant FSA his time, patience, and talent!!! Practices have been a blasty blast! Practices are always filled with lots of laughs as we all try our best to dance. Not all of us have dance expereience (myslef being a huge culprit) but we all try our best, and laugh while trying!!!
Audtions were this past Thursday for both Mercy Rule and FSA so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Rooftop Band... Mercy Rule

This past Friday, history was made on the rooftop of the lakehouse...
The first ever band played on top of the lakehouse. And that band was non other then the band that yours truly is a part of... Mercy Rule... yessir, that is our band name.
We were missing members however we had 3 of the 5 members were there, and we jammed with a really insane bassist. Scott Floyd on Rythym Guitar, Justin Thomas on Drums and Stacy Uy (yes, i just referred to myself in the third person...) on Lead guitar... we three were the first to set up on the lakehouse on the warm and breezy friday afternoon. Missing were our lead singer and lyracist Nathan Sudarma and out pianist, Jonah Winata.
We were up there roughly 3 hours and we just jammed out. While we were up people started coming up to hear what the ruckus was. We even jammed with an insane Bassist named Sam Guiterrez. He's been playing for 7 years and he's a music major, so yeah... he's pretty good! His bass skills allowed us to play some Red Hot Chilli Peppers and other jams. We would have loved him to join our band, however his bass skills have have him in 4 other bands so we had to settle with jamming.
We are performing in Husky Reveiw whch is HBU's talent show, and we are tyring to create some buzz and hype about the band. We've only been together for about a month, so we are farily new, however we have the song we are going to perform, and several others in the works. We're hoping to take home the gold and would love everyone to come out and support the band!

So sick...of being sick!!! X_x
*cough cough*
*hack hack hack*
*hachoo!!!"
*sniff-sniff*
*snore-cough-snore"
These onomatopoeias are what describes my past week... Yup its that time of year again; Rabbit Season... no wait i meant Duck Season.... errr that's wrong too... FLU Season!!!
This past week it seems that everyone and their mother has been sick around the HBU campus. (ironically enough when i went to visit my parents this weekend in Katy, my mom was sick!!!) But its no wonder when one person on campus gets sick, a lot of people follow suit. My roomate was sick two weeks ago, and i caught what he had a week later. It was pretty bad. Coughing, sneezing, congestion, dizzyness... you name it!
I even had to visit the school nurse which is located on the first floor of the Lakehouse. The nurse diagnosed me with an upper respiratory tract infection. The doctor then prescribed me some azithromyocin for my infection and bromotane for my cough. The bromotane made me a little bit sleepy so the few classes i did attend last week was a lot of fun. I had to e-mail my proffessors informing them of my imeding death... well perhaps im being a little bit overdramatic but i wasn't feeling that great.
Well after taking my meds for 5 days and drinking a lot of fluids, and getting a lot of rest, I'm proud to say that my illness is standing on it's last leg! And now, all that's left is for me to catch up on all the work i missed last week... X_x
*cough cough* hmmmmm maybe im getting sick again!!!

Husky Ambassadors +Sneak Preview+2009=3.14245983189732465749246123874624

This past Saturday HBU held its annual Sneak Preview for perspective students. It was a blasty blast! And I'm not just saying that because I'm a current student or because my bosses are probably going to read this, but it was straight up legit fun! =))))))
Well anyways... I am a Husky Ambassador here at HBU and it is our sworn duty to give epic tours and inform the youth of all the +'s to going to our prestigious university. We go through rigorous testing and tests in order to attain a coveted spot as a husky ambassador, but i will not go into the details!
Interacting with the "younguns" keeps me feeling so fresh and so clean, clean. It helps me feel young again! (cuz im so old now... im like 20 now!) A large part of our job on sneak preview days is to direct traffic and answer questions for any perspective students (and any over-eager parents) about being a student at our school.
A large part of the fun was just hanging out with the other husky ambassador. We're a crazy bunch! (me being a head conspirator) It's just like hanging out with all your friends for a day! And the admissions counselors are just as wild, and just as crazy serving for a definitely memorable experience!
