Some catching up at Starbucks...

So friends, its very hard to believe that this semester is almost over. My first couple of months of college have really flown by! I have made so many amazing friends and experienced some awesome stuff. Tonight was a really cool experience, I was just planning on having a relaxing evening to myself. I thought about doing some cleaning, a bit of studying, and playing some guitar before I went and played ultimate frisbee, but instead I got to do something much cooler! I went to the Baugh with my friend Tony, and we talked about how us two and our other friend Kelly always used to hang out when school first started, but since our schedules had gotten so busy, we never really did anything together by ourselves anymore. So we went to Starbucks, just us three! We talked about our college experiences, and if our expectations about school were completely different than what it has really been like. We laughed about all the things we said we did and didn't want to be involved in right off the bat, and how a lot of that changed. I look back on these last few months and look at the person I've already started to become. People say you never really discover yourself until you experience the independence of college and they are right. I am really just starting to learn about life, and what I'm going to do with mine. It is comforting to know that God is in control of it all, and that if I surrender my every worry, concern, and care to him... He'll take care of it. So all in all, college is great. I know it will be some of the best years ever, and I can't wait to see what God has in store! Nothing like good friends, a great God, and a warm scarf in 50 degree weather... all over a grande cinnamon dulce latte with a shot of mocha. :)

A day in the life...

Well I remember when I was looking for the right college, I wanted to know what it was like to live there, so I thought I might describe to you an average day in the life of an HBU college student! Well when starting the day, you of course want to begin it right with a good meal... perhaps from our beloved cafeteria, the Baugh. Here are some pictures of some of my friends in the cafeteria... we have a good time, haha

These are some of my girls, Sally and Kelly, gorgeous girls... funny faces!

Well after a bite to eat, you would probably go to class, and if the weather was nice, your professor might be as cool as mine and have class outside on the beautiful HBU campus!

After you were done with class, you might want to participate in various campus activities... maybe intramural sports! Here are some of my friends and me hanging out and watching some flag football

After a fun afternoon at the intramural fields, you might grab some dinner with friends, head to a sporting event, or head to Refuge rehearsal, like I do... even though we have to work on our music, we still have fun and joke around...

This is Michael, he's our electric guitar player and he's also a pretty cool guy

William Vickery. He is a good friend of mine as well as an amazing drummer!

Finally after a good practice or whatever you might choose to be involved in, you'll head to your dorm for some sleep (which is so valuable for college kids) I don't know where you'll choose to live whether its the Women's Residence College, Men's Residence College, or The Lake House, but any of the residence halls are great! I live on the 6th floor of the Lake House and I love it! I also get a pretty sweet view...

And, if you're a HUGE baseball/softball fan like me, you'll be pleased to know you get a terrific view of both the baseball and softball fields!

Well there you go, guys! This is what my day looks like, minus a whole lot of little details that make college such a unique experience. I hope this helps you know a bit more about student life here, I'll talk to ya'll later!

Well hey, guys! So this week at HBU it was Homecoming! There were so many events that went on and I have some pictures from a few... the one you see above is a picture of me with our beloved mascot, Kiza! She is a sweetie! Well I am proud to say that our Men's basketball team walked away with a tremendous victory over ETBU! Go Huskies! Other than basketball though, we had some other activities... one I participated in was our annual golf cart parade! It is an exciting competition among our many organizations. I am a member of our drama organization, Rex Flemming Readers! Here are some pictures!

Well guys, I hope this has given you an idea about what kind of activities go on here at HBU during Homecoming week! It was all really fun and I'll be blogging again soon about some more random things that go on with my close friends at HBU... I'll talk about band practice, our 6th floor tea parties, and more! Sound exciting? It is :)
