Bonjour!!!

Bonjour! Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Winter break seemed sooo short as usual! I had a nice Christmas at home with the family in Richmond, Virginia then I flew out and visited my boyfriend in Vail, Colorado until January 2nd! It was a blast! But it was very hard to say goodbye because we won't see each other until I get back from my semester abroad! :-(

So...right now I am in Geneva, Switzerland! We arrived here last Tuesday, and I just got my internet up and running yesterday. It is amazing here! We have already toured the International Museum of the Red Cross, the International Museum of the Reformation, and we toured the Archaeological Site of Saint-Pierre Cathedral. We started classes this past Monday, so today was only our third day of classes. There are 15 of us here from HWS...mostly juniors but there is also one sophomore and two seniors. While here we are all taking three classes for the 1st six weeks and then an internship for the 2nd six weeks. Our three classes are Comparative Public Policy, Swiss Life and Culture, and French. Throughout the semester we also take three planned excursions...the first one is to Chur, Davos, and Bellinzona; the second one is to Bern and Interlaken; and the third is to Zurich (all of these places are cities/towns located in Switzerland). This Friday we are also taking a day trip to Chateau Chillion in Montreux.

When I decided to attend Hobart and William Smith Colleges I really had no thoughts about whether or not I was going to study abroad, but now that I am here...sitting at my computer with a view of the French Alps...I am definitely glad I took advantage of the opportunity to study abroad! Although it has barely been a week here, I can already tell that this is going to be an amazing experience!

Alrighty, well I need to get some reading done tonight! Hope all is well back in the States! Byeee!
