Fall in Geneva
Hey Everyone!!!!
It has been sooooo long. I have not fallen off the face of the earth……..I am alive and well. I can’t believe that a month and a few weeks in November have already past. So much has happened during that time. During the month of October there was fall recess, trustee weekend, and also parents weekend. My mom came from the Bronx to spend the weekend with me, and we had a GREAT time!!!! That weekend we attended the Latin American Organization parent’s dinner. There were great performers from the Colleges and a traveling group from Syracuse. I am apart of Harmony’z With Soul, which is a gospel and R&B group here at the Colleges. We have had various singing engagements these past few weeks. So far we have sung at a Latin American Organization event, Caribbean Student Association event, and a Hip-Notiqs (step team) event. Then we have the Kwanzaa celebration to prepare for. This event is planned every year by Sankofa; the black student union. Yesterday, there was a rally on campus hosted by the Black Student Union. This gathering was sparked by recent events that are rampant across our society today. Issues concerning social justice, and understanding and educating others on how we can all be an advocates for change. It was a wonderful event!!!
Thanksgiving break is right around the corner!!!! I can’t wait!!! Our break starts Tuesday after our last commitment. It is inexpensive and easy for me to get home for breaks. Even though there is a greyhound station in Geneva, the Colleges charter a bus for half the cost for a round trip. I love taking the bus through the Colleges, because you know everyone on the bus, and it is a chill environment of listening to music, watching movies, and catching up with friends you have not seen in a while.
When we get back from break we have a few weeks of classes, then reading days, and then we take exams, and then…….. we are home for a MONTH!!!!! I am already excited for next semester, because my friends that are abroad will be back for next semester!!! I can’t wait to here about their travels abroad. On the other hand I'm sad because some of my friends this semester will be abroad for next semester, but I'm happy for them and can’t wait to here all about their experiences. I apologize for being on a hiatus for soooooo long!!! I'm in serious withdrawal from not chatting with all of you!!! I can’t wait to here back from all of you, and I don’t bite, so drop me a message sometime!!! Have a GREAT day!!!!
