Hey Cyber Buddies!!!
I had a GRAND weekend!!! On Friday I attended the Asian Student Union Lunar New Year Celebration. The food was amazing!!!! I was stuffed, as I finished eating I just wanted to curl up in bed. I was able to try really great foods that I have never had before. They also had sushi that they made themselves; it was very YUMMY!!!! The event was held at Intercultural Affairs, also known as ICA here at the Colleges. The ICA is a hot spot for many students here at the colleges. There are always tons of events going on there.
On Saturday, I slept in, which felt WONDERFUL!!!! And then I did laundry. Later that evening I attended Harlem Nights, which is an event put on every year by Sankofa, which is the Black Student Union. Harlem Nights is a reenactment of the Harlem Renaissance, everyone wore clothes from that era, and there were guest performances from Langston Hughes, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole, and many others. I was one of waitresses for the evening. It was held in the lower half of barn. Did I just say barn? Yes, I did! We have a barn here at the Colleges, but there are no farm animals. The space is used for various events here on campus.
