Labor Day is Over and I am Still Wearing White!

Have you ever thought about 'rules' that have been around for years but that have become more of wive's tale than anything productive? Labor Day makes me think about this especially in relation to college admissions.

Number 1 'rule' that really isn't anymore? You MUST get a HIGH SAT score in order to get into college.

Okay, so yes, you must try to do your best, and yes, the higher your score is the easier it is to get into your school of choice. But in all honesty? College admissions is looking for a well-rounded student who will thrive on their campus academically, socially, etc...

So how do you make this work for you? Get involved! Church, community, sports, school activities... I don't care what, just be passionate about it and stay involved with it! IU students are ones who are involved but who also keep academics first. If this is you, then you have come to the right place.

In the end, yes we have to look at your test scores. But these are not the only deciding factor to your admittance to IU. We also look at your transcripts, GPA, types of classes you have taken, other activities you are involved in, etc... Its the package we are looking for.... not the 2400 (though it never hurts!)

Have a great day and enjoy your first few days of school!
