Washington DC

Sp here I am in the nation's capital city and loving every minute of it! I am here for the week to attend the NAFSA conference. This group is all about international recruiting, international students and study abroad; globalization is the theme! Today I got to hear Vincente Fox, the former president of Mexico, speak, how cool is that? There is so much to do with 9,200 attendees from 125 countries! Pretty amazing.

Have you ever thought about studying abroad, semester at sea or a 3-6 week trip overseas to earn credits? At IU you can study abroad :) Some of our students even take breaks and go to places like Italy or Greece and earn credits while touring the places! It's pretty cool. Any questions, let me know!
St. Patty's Day!

I wish I could say that St. Patty's Day was a national holiday, but it's not, so I am at work! If you are still looking at IU, have questions, want to send in your deposit or visit again, now is the time to do it!

What's new with me you ask? Well, in the last week, I finished one of my grad classes, closed on a house, cleaned and painted that house, moved into the house, taught aerobics per the usual, and then came to work today. BUSY! But you'll find that once you get to IU, your life will be busy too! In fact, it may be spring break, but many of our students are on a 10 day trip to GREECE! There they will actually earn credits while traveling the country! That could be you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope this blog finds you well!

President's Day Next Monday

Hey Guys! Just wanted to let you all know that we are having a President's Day event on campus:) Check out the events section of the website: www.believeinimmaculata.com.

Okay so this past weekend we had an Information Session with a little bit of a twist. We did the usual lunch, tour, info stuff, but then we invited everyone to the basketball game for the guys here. So much fun! It was a "pink out" to help raise money for Breast Cancer Research. Here is a picture of the team just before the game. Check out Mac in the back!

My birthday was this weekend so I am in the mood to play! Why don't you come and visit us so we can show you around? It's much more fun to make your college decision when you've seen all your choices! I happen to think that you will fall in love with IU, but I may be a bit biased! If you want to visit, call us at 610-647-4400 x 3060, or email our coordinator, Deb, at dclemetson@immaculata.edu.

Not sure you can make it here? Check out IU's interactive map and pics of campus: http://www.immaculata.edu!

MLK

Here at IU, we may be working and going to class, but that's because we don't think service should be dedicated to just one day. In fact, we think service in your community is a way of life and we instill that in every student on every level. We offer service activities constantly both on and off campus; from restoring hurricane Katrina areas to raising money for a soup kitchen... the list is endless around here.

If this is something you are looking for in a university... you've found the right place! Let me know if I can tell you more about it :)

It is soooooo cold outside... again, that may be an exageration, but I HATE cold anything, except for ice cream, but that's a different blog for a different day.

Yeah! Thanksgiving is coming! I cannot wait for Thursday.... the deep-fried turkey, mashed potatoes, candied yams... and pumpkin pie with whipped cream! I think I will be in my versin of heaven:) How about you? What's your favorite part of thanksgiving?

I guess another part of Thanksgiving that I love is the time off. Not going to lie, work is super-busy right now! And that is definitely a good thing, but a few days to sit back, eat, and watch football? I am a happy girl! As for Black Friday... do you go shopping? I try to avoid the malls, etc... so instead I am going wedding dress shopping for MY wedding. I am so excited but also a little nervous!!! Wish me luck!

Okay so onto business for a moment. APPLY. You've got 5-10minutes to spare? Do it now. It's free until December 15th! Don't miss your chance!!!!

Last Week of Travel

It's finally here! (thank goodness!) I cannot do it any more. I think I am just tired of the suitcase. I want to be home for more than 3 days at a time!!!! But I love the job and I love meeting you guys! So instead, how about you come and visit me???? (sign up online OR call 610-647-4400 x 3060 to sign up)

So I had a busy but fun weekend! Friday was jury duty, not so much fun. But Saturday was the PSU vs Temple game!!!!! I went to PSU (though I now do my MA at IU) and my fiance went to Temple, so it was great! Our tickets were in the Temple student section so I was little out of place decked out in blue and white! (those happen to be IU's colors as well so it makes my life easy) PSU won, and we sold out the stadium! How cool?

Sunday, Jay and I went to the new Philadelphia Premium Outlets. OMG, seriously could have spent major moolah! But I resisted the urge. I definitely recommend them! I then went and taught aerobics (its my second life) and drove to Baltimore. Which brings me to now! I am taking a quick break between college fair sessions and blogging for you :) Hope all is well!

Come see IU! Or better yet, come to our open house on Saturday (the 17th, that's THIS Saturday!). Check it out on http://www.immaculata.edu :) See you soon!
