A New Four-Year BSN Program

Immaculata University now offers a four-year undergraduate pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The program was recently approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

With the second highest number of nursing graduates in Pennsylvania, Immaculata University is known for its excellent RN to BSN program which is offered to working adults in an accelerated format through the College of LifeLong Learning. In 2004, Immaculata expanded its nursing program offering with the addition of the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) through its College of Graduate Studies.

With a holistic approach to the nursing profession, students enrolled in the newly developed four-year pre-licensure nursing program are taught by faculty with advanced degrees in nursing education and clinical practice. Students begin taking nursing courses in the second semester of their sophomore year with their first clinical experience. Because the clinical rotations are an integral part of the educational experience, diverse health care organizations and agencies are available to provide a range of specialties in nursing that include acute care, maternal child health, psychiatric/mental health, long-term care, and community health.

Nursing is generally known as the top profession for job growth and is recognized as the nation’s largest health care profession. By offering a rigorous nursing curriculum with diverse and innovative clinical experiences, Immaculata’s expert nursing faculty are well equipped for the preparation of the next generation of nursing professionals.
