I love meeting famous people!

The other day at work was possibly the best day ever!! As many of you know there is a movie being filmed about IU and the Mighty Macs, the women's basketball team, who in 1972 won the first ever women's national title and helped put women's college basketball on the map! There are some pretty big names associated with this film, including:Carla Gugino, Ellen Burstyn, Blythe Danner, and David Boranez!

In fact we got to meet David the other day. He is so nice! He even let us take a picture with him :) Below is our picture~

I can't wait to meet more movie stars! For any of you who were planning to make a campus visit this summer you might get your chance too.

Keep checking out my blog to see if i meet any other stars~ I will keep you all posted!

So far behind....

Hi Everyone,
I must apologize for my lack of blogging. The fall just got away from me and then winter and the holidays just took over!! I hope you all had a wonderful winter and are having a spectacular spring (could I use any more alliteration?). I am so excited that the weather has been so beautiful lately. However on of the security guards told me today that there is a chance for a snowy Easter~ crossing my fingers that the gorgeous weather holds up!

I also wanted to send out a reminder to all of you accepted students. We are having our second and last Accepted Students’ Day on Saturday April 14th. It will be a day filled with information, games, food, and lots of chances to meet faculty, current students and other great people from our campus. Plus Tim Chambers, who is directing the movie about the Mighty Macs and their amazing story, will be at the event and so will two of the original Might Macs themselves!! If you would like to attend the event please call or email me and I will set you up for the day.

For all of you who are in the process of applying to IU please make sure you complete your application by sending in your test scores and high school transcripts. If you are not sure if you have completed your application please email or call me and I will check our records.

Again I hope this finds you all healthy and happy and I promise to keep more on top of this….

Fall is almost here...

So summer is almost over, I can't believe that it has come and gone so quickly. Pretty soon the leaves will be changing and the colors of fall will be visible all over. This is a great time to starting visiting college campuses. The semester is just beginning and there is so much to see and do on campus.

All you seniors: I know I know, for some of you the last thing you wanna do the beginning of senior year is start to look at colleges because that means that yes you will soon be leaving your beloved school. However think of all the stress you won’t have to deal with later in the year if you get out there now and start getting in your applications. Just think you could send your application in now, and have your acceptance back and make your decision before Thanksgiving if you wanted to. Hey won’t that make the holidays nice this year, no worries over did I send that in, or did I get that letter yet.

At IU we try to keep a policy of making a decision within 2-3 weeks, once we get your completed application. Once we know the decision we want you to know too! Applying is really easy, all you need are your high school transcripts, your SAT or ACT scores and of course an application.

If you want more information about our application process or if you have already applied and are unsure if you have all the credentials in just email, im or call me. Also if you are interested in visiting the campus (a must do) we can set that up for you. You can tour the campus, sit-in on a class, meet with professors, coaches, and current students or you can shadow a student around for the day. The opportunities are endless and we would love to see you here!!

I hope you all have a happy and safe holiday weekend and I look forward to talking and meeting with you soon :)

Summertime is a great time to visit

Hello out there to all you juniors in High School who are about to be seniors!

I know that right now you are thinking about getting a break from school and maybe the last thing on your mind is where you are going to attend college. Or maybe it's not. Well if you are starting to get some ideas of what you might be looking for in a college one thing you should look into is visitng the campus. The summer months are a great opportunity to get a preview of what a college campus looks like. Even though the enviroment is a little different since most students are on summer break you can still take a tour with a current student and talk with your Admissions Counselor. Plus you should take advantage of the beautiful weather while it is here! To make a visit you can either call our campus visit coordinator at (610)647-4400 ext 3060 or check out our website (www.believeinimmaculata.com) and go to the make a visit section.

I hope to see you all this summer!!!

So I'm a little behind.....it happens

Hi Everyone!
It's been awhile since the last time I wrote. Sorry about that. Things have been really busy around here. We had an event this past Monday and we are all getting ready for our IU Day on January 28th. Plus getting back into the swing of things is always hard after a break. Everyone is back at school now, classes have started and the campus is busy. It's a great time to come visit, if you haven't been to our beautiful campus yet you must come check it out, or if you have already been here but would like a second look now is a great time.

Just a few reminders, if you have applied and have not received an answer yet make sure you have completed your application. If you're not sure what's missing just give me a call or email me. If you have been accepted you should be filing your paperwork for financial aid. For those of you who have made the decision that Immaculata is the right place for you, it is never too early to send in your deposit to reserve your spot on campus for the fall, but you do have till May 1st if you are still deciding!

I hope all is well and I look forward to talking with you all!

Have a great weekend!!!!!!!

Happy Turkey Day!!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you all have a wonderful time celebrating with your family and friends.

Here is a little treat I found - love it!

'Twas the Night of Thanksgiving

'Twas the night of Thanksgiving, and I just couldn't sleep.
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned, the dark meat and white,
But I fought the temptation with all of my might.
Tossing and turning with anticipation,
The thought of a snack became infatuation.
So I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door,
And gazed at the fridge full of goodies galore.
I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
Till all of a sudden, I rose off the ground!
I crashed through the ceiling. Floating into the sky,
With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie.
But I managed to yell as I soared past the trees...

Happy eating to all! Pass the cranberries, please!

Have a good one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you believe it?

Ok so I am all for the holiday spirit, don't get me wrong here, I love Christmas it is my favorite time of year. However what I saw on TV this past Sunday night was absurd. How the Grinch Stole Christmas was on!!!!! Traditionally the first time the show is aired is on Thanksgiving night and I am fine with that, I expect that. To play it on November 12th is crazy. I feel like as soon as that station broadcasted it then it gave all the other channels the permission to play all the comericals, and now we are being overloaded with them!! Let one holiday happen at a time, we are still more than a week away from Thanksgiving. And on top of this two weekends ago a local radio station switched to all christmas music, from now till December 26th. How are we suppossed to enjoy the seasons and reflect on the true meanings of the holiday if we are skipping to the next one?

OK I will get down off my soap box, I just think that this world moves fast enough as it is and we don't need to rush it along any quicker. Well have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone and enjoy each day !!!
