First Post!!

So... This is my first post in my first Blog for Immaculata!! I'm super excited. If you are reading this I hope that you are super excited! Ha-ha.

First, let me tell you a little about myself. I am a junior, and right now I am 20 years old. My hometown is Baltimore, MD. I went to Eastern Technical High School and my “career major” there was engineering. I am a math major and I am thinking about minoring in philosophy. As far as what I do on campus, here is a list: secretary of the class of 2009, president of the math club, admissions StAR, math center tutor, mascot dog pound, and I think that is it.

This year has been nuts so far! I've been keeping myself so busy I don't know when to sleep! We’ve had a lot of fun events so far on campus, and really good turn outs for them too. Yesterday was our annual family picnic. It was so much fun! One of my best friends from home, Matt, came up to visit. On back campus we had stalls set up with a ton of games and popcorn and cotton candy! There were games, like potato sack races and balloon tosses, as well as raffles. I hosted the math club’s “Lets Make a Deal” table. It was a lot of fun. Everyone’s families were invited, and kids of all ages and the younger kids were so cute! There were also games going on as well: field hockey, tennis, and men’s and women’s soccer. Our just unveiled mascot, Mac, was there too. Everyone had a lot of fun and Mac is so cute!! We also had a comedian/magician on Friday night. He was really funny and did some awesome card tricks. Our families were invited too. The funniest part was when it was silent except for the performer talking, and this little girl behind me busted out laughing for no reason! Ha-ha!

Today was our first IU Day since we got back for the year. It was a lot of fun. I am super tired though!! My favorite part was definitely the mini donuts!! I love food. But, all in all, it was a lot of fun. The set up was different than any of the StARs were used too, but we made it through. We gave two tours, which was nice, one to the parents and one to the students. When we do it that way, the parents and the students are more likely to ask questions, because sometimes they are intimidated by each other. I am a very animated tour guide, and I think I should have stretched before the tours, my back hurts!!

Well, I hope that I didn’t write so much that you were bored! Come back and see what I’m doing sometime, there’s always something new going on at IU! See you next week!!
