An Interesting Weekend

Hey everyone! As I pointed out in my last blog, I had an overall interesting weekend! A group of about 20 people from Immaculata went on a Mystery Trip, where we had no idea where the bus was going to take us. My girlfriend thought that she figured out where the trip was, and she told me excitedly the night before that it was New York City, which kind of got me excited because 1. I thought it was New York the whole time and 2. New York's a pretty cool place. I thought of buying some Heroes gear at the NBC store in Rockefeller Center (yeah i know..im kind of a nerd) and just spending some time with my close friends there. But, when we started going on the bus, we started driving south and everyone figured out then that it wasnt New York. Then, everyone on the bus thought it was Baltimore, but we drove right past that exit and kept going. Eventually, we ended up in Washington, DC, where none of us expected at first. However, we all had a good time, visiting the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Zoo there, and we walked around and enjoyed the sites. We also took the Metro, which was a good time because underground trains are the funnest, especially in DC.
So, in addition to the DC trip, I also had the Honors Convocation this weekend. I noticed how the ceremony folded out, and it was similar to most ceremonies where you receive honors, but it was an interesting ceremony, with everyone wearing the same caps and gowns that they are going to wear for graduation. Yeah..other than the events of the weekend, I've got nothing too exciting, but if anything comes around, I'll certainly remember it for my next blog...until then!

Some exciting things coming up

Hey everyone! I hope you all are doing well! Me, well, I just got done a Environmental Bio mid-term! Luckily, it wasn't too hard and I'm sure I passed it, but life is full of surprises. For instance, yesterday I got my Education Psychology mid-term back and was unsure of how I did because it was a tough midterm. But, below and behold, I got a 100, which surprised me, but it was a nice surprise after all. Anyway, enough about that. So, last weekend was "Fall Break", which is when we get a Friday off in addition to the weekend, so most people decided to go home. I went home also, and I really didn't do anything, but it was nice and relaxing. I went to go visit Chick-fil-A, where I work during breaks and the summer, and I realized when I walked in I barely knew anybody!! But, luckily, my friend from Penn State who's a freshman came up that day, and we had a good time visiting each other at Chick-fil-A, even though we barely knew anyone! Other than watching the Village on Saturday with my best friend Mary, I didn't do anything of interest..but I've got some very exciting things coming up! Unfortunately, there was going to be the best high school football game in my town, which is a contest between Downingtown East and West, but sadly, it was postponed because one of the football players died. Keep the family and the victim's other loved ones in your prayers.
There's a Mystery Trip this Saturday sponsered by Programming Board. The thing is, I have no idea where we're going, so I'm hoping it's some place good! I think it might be New York because of little subtle hints, but other than that, we'll see! Also, Programming Board, which I'm a part of, has started to plan for the Haunted Grotto, which is like this haunted tour thing throughout the Grotto woods that we have on campus, and usually it's a really great time. Finally, this Sunday, I have an Honors Covocation for getting Dean's List last year. This is my first time doing this, so I had to buy academic attire. It's weird, because the attire is a cap and gown, and it reminds me eerily that graduation from high school was almost two years ago and graduation from college is two and a half years away, and that's kind of scary. Oh well! Check here next week for the results of my busy and exciting weekend!

Middle Semester

Wow, I can't believe a lot of things this week. It's been a month already since I've been going out with my girlfriend Sarah. But even more, I can't believe it's already the middle of the semester. It always goes so slow at the beginning but once you get to the middle of september, the time goes so quick that the next time you blink, Christmas is around the corner. Last weekend wasn't that bad. I went to go visit my sister, who's a senior at Hofstra University with my family, but sadly nothing storyworthy happened that weekend. Oh, and I went to my high school's football game, which was a good time! But, you know, when you're looking for someone, it's always good to let them know before they go, so I looked for my one friend the whole time and then she tells me on facebook when i get back that she wasnt going to be there. All that worrying for nothing!!
So, whats on the plate this week? FALL BREAK!..yeah even though we only get one day off..and that day off is the day I only have one class..its still a break, and I can sleep in finally! This happened last year too, when I had no classes on Monday. Oh well..anyway..so this week and sometimes next week is the supposed mid-terms week. While many people I've noticed are going crazy over these midterms, I've noticed I barely have any mid-terms in the sense of a mid-term that you would be thinking about. I've only had and have to do essays for two classes (knock on wood), but I guess my other classwork will add up for the difference. Well, you'll notice as the weeks go on that I'm gonna get really busy fast and right now I'm just experiencing a short decline in work..its the middle of the week slump..but it'll pick up. Well, till next week, I'm out!

Another week

Hey everyone! While I should be reenergized because I slept in Saturday, I'm just as tired as I was last week. I got to sleep in last Saturday till 12:50, which was amazingly nice, cause I never get to sleep in anymore!! But, this past weekend was also busy. My best friend Mary came to visit me after her shift at the movie theater and me, my girlfriend Sarah, and a few more of my friends went out to Happy Days Diner about two minutes away and we had a good time. Then, the next morning, I got up early so I could visit my friend Dave, who is studying to become a priest at St. Charles Borreomeo Seminary. I realized that the bus doesnt run on Sundays, and luckily for me, I got my friend Catherine to give me a ride. I also realized you meet the most interesting people on trains, or while youre waiting for the train. I met this one lady while I was waiting for my train and we just struck up a random conversation, which was nice. Later, I run into this older guy and he, all of a sudden, went on this rant about the American transportation system, which was the most interesting part of my train ride. But, after all that, my visit with Dave went great, but in the first 30 minutes of the visit, I got my exercise by going up 5 stories to the bell tower, where you could see Philadelphia from the top. But, other than the visit on Sunday, which went well for the rest of the day (and I wont go into, it was a usual visit), I got to look forward to all of the classwork I had while still trying to be social with people, which ive realized this year is real tough.
One last thing I want to bring up before I sign off is what consumes one hour of my life every Monday night. I don't know how much of you watch Heroes, but I can tell you that it is an amazing show. It started last week for Season 2 and its already getting off to a great start. If you like Heroes, leave a comment cause I can talk for a while about Heroes and everything about that, as Im sure any fan could understand. Alright, well I'm done, I'm gonna watch Dead Silence with a few of my friends now..that im done with my homework for tonight..finally!! Until next week!
