It's been a while..

Hey Everyone! It's been a while, sorry I haven't been back for a bit. Thanksgiving break just happened and I've been keeping myself busy this entire week. But anyway, my Thanksgiving break was pretty good!! I got together with my family up in Dallas, PA and we shared a wonderful Thanksgiving meal, and we had good times playing Apples to Apples with practically all of my relatives there, including my Grandma! I also worked my kitchen job at Chick-fil-A on Black Friday and Saturday, and it was definately a weird experience going back there to work. But anyway, back to the present.

You can tell it's getting to be the end of the year around Immaculata! They brought in the big Christmas tree yesterday to the Rotunda, and already today it is nearly fully decorated. I love the big Christmas tree because Christmas is the best holiday around, and Immaculata knows how to celebrate it. For instance, this weekend, we're having a Christmas Cotillion dance, which, if anyone knows me, I'm always a fan of going to dances cause of the songs and good times. Sunday is our Christmas banquet, and I can say I'm also lookin forward to that, and that should be a good time also, complete with good food and Mac, the mascot. So, that is all that's coming up, and even though I've got a billion things to do, there's no way I'm passin all this up!!

Counting down!

Well, as of right now, there is only 6 days until the beginning of Thanksgiving break, which, if you could tell on campus, is something that everyone is looking for. Now is the time when the schoolwork just piles on top of us, and everyone else and me are just looking for any time for a break. I think I especially need a break because I'm not only busy with schoolwork, as I've said in my earlier blogs, but I have so much other things on my plate that I need the nice simple life of being at home for a few days! But anyway, enough about that! I had an interesting weekend and a different weekend than usual! I went to Temple U to visit my best friend, Mary, from home, and i stayed with her and her friends. We had a really good time, from playing guitar hero to ddr to twister to just watching movies. I also went to the Temple-Penn State at the Linc this weekend, which even though Temple didnt score anything, was a lot of fun just being at the Linc where the Eagles actually play. However, we didn't get there till 4th quarter, and let me tell you why! We thought that the shuttle to the game was going to pick us up at the Student Center, but we soon figured out that it didn't, so we walked all the way across campus to wait for a bus. When we got across campus, a bus was actually there, but there was no bus driver! So we waited for an hour or so and there was still no bus driver. So, me and two other guys decided to take the subway to the game and eventually we got there, but by then there was no chance that temple was going to win, so it was kind of unfortunate. However, it was a nice break and now I'm continuing my busy Immaculata life, which is fun too when I have my breaks. Well, spring registration is this week, as I mentioned last week, but I'm gonna have to wake up nice and early to register online for my courses, which should be all good. Well, until next week!

Gettin Ready for Next Semester

I've noticed that I have been very irregular in my blog posting, and I realize that this is because I have been ridiculously busy with the Modern Foreign Language Association, Campus Ministry, and just good old schoolwork that sometimes the thought of the blog passes me by. Well, today I remembered, and so I'm here. Now, as I mentioned before, I have been busy with my organizations on campus in order to get things done for this semester and the beginning of next semester. For MFLA, we're planning a group outing to a Mexican restaurant in Exton called On the Border, which I'm really looking forward to because 1. I like Mexican food and 2. I've never been there before, even though I live in the area. Campus Ministry-wise, I am working with a variety of people in order to get a Freshman Retreat running. I went on my retreat last year and I enjoyed it immensely, and I want the same experience to occur with this year's freshmen. I am really excited to get it running, probably as soon as next week. The beginning of the year is what I'm shooting for, and it's gonna be exciting.
So, now is the time to get ready for Spring Semester, and I've already chosen my classes for registration. I'm going to be taking Math, Environmental Bio, and my Observations(albeit in the inner city) as with this semester, plus I'm going to take Latin American Culture and Civilization, a Spanish course I need for my minor (which I just declared today), a course on the Holocaust, my History sophmore Seminar, a Theology class, and Pickleball, which should be a great time. Now, as you can see, I'm going to have quite a heavy plate next semester, but it should be alright. Oh well, I've got to get started on a paper about Otto von Bismarck, which should be a blast (ha yeah it will)..so i'll talk to you all next week!

Busyness begins!

Wow, has the past week been really busy! So much has happened! I'll start with the big stand out event of the past week, the Monster Mash (and no not the song)! The Monster Mash dance that the junior class put on last weekend was an awesome time! I was Danny Zuko from Grease and my girlfriend was Sandy. It was a great time, with everyone on the dance floor doing Cotton Eyed Joe, the Cha-Cha Slide, the Electric Slide, and even the Macarena, that favorite dance fad from the 90s. Speaking of fads from the 90s, they played some (ick) Spice Girls..haha who i believe is going out on a reunion tour, and no I'm not planning on going. haha anyway, other than that music, it was a really good time. I even got to do Thriller and test my Thriller dance skills, unfortunately without the backup of my friend Alice and dance extradinaire freshman Andy, who, ironically, also dressed up as Danny. Overall, I had a great time, and it was probably the highlight of my week.
Other than the halloween dance, I've just been busy with a variety of activities, from a decent amount of schoolwork to working events with our mascot, Mac, who is the coolest scottie dog you'll ever meet. Finally, as of yesterday, I decided to work on the lights and become an escort for Miss Immaculata which is happening tomorrow, and it should be exciting. Finally, if you are all wondering what i did for Halloween, I watched this show called Phenomenon, which, if you have never heard ot if, is this magic reality show where people try to become the next phenomenon. Some of the acts during this show have been amazing!! One of the tricks that you would not believe was a man who mentally stopped his heart and was motionless for about 20 seconds with no pulse until he brought himself back to life again! That was insane, and I was on edge for the whole time! It comes on Wednesdays at 8 on NBC if you are ever interested in tuning in to that interesting show. It's the life of a college student to find things like that. well, i've already written a book, but until next time, hasta luego!
