The Chronicles of Narnia

I can't wait to go see that movie AHHHHHHH :D I get to see it before people, and that's just awesome, but if the ruin my book, heads will roll.
I was thinking today, why are there high heels? They hurt a lot, and only after you get huge callouses on the botton of your feet are the balls of your feet ok with wearing them, and they serve no function except we think they look cute. My mom always says, beauty must suffer, but I think that's just because we've made beauty into this mostrously unachievable and painful thing. Of course, my mom was referring to brishing the tangles out of my hair when I was little, but it's a statement on society. Does that sunset look like it suffers? Well, I guess so-huge explosions are going on just so the sun can continue being----ok, fine, I lose my point. Doesn't mean the high heels that look so cute and go with my outfit don't hurt insanely walking across back campus.
I had to do my huge English research paper, which I got an A on, I got done my 15 minute presentation en francais on Wednesday, don't know what I got on that yet, and my large Psych project on adolescent depression and its treatment was given back to me today, and guess what? I got an A on that too!! Whoopee!! Now it only remains to do my history research paper, take my Irish oral exam and grammar exam, have a twenty minute interview in French, and then start working on Finals. Hahaha-it sounds so simple on paper.
I went back to my high school on Wednesday to visit my favorite English teacher-it was sort of weird. I had to sign in and could only stay for a half hour and all, and there were people everywhere that I was like, who are you??? It made me a little bit sad, but I'm so happy where I am right now! I guess that's how it always is-change can hurt, and you can look back a bit misty-eyed, but you're supposed to move on to bigger things-that's just what is meant to be, the natural progression.
I went Christmas shopping yesterday-I see so many things I want to get people, but I have to restrain myself. I love giving presents and making people happy!! I wated to give Becca the first part of her present yesterday, because she went home early to be with her family as her father is very sick in the hospital, and I wanted to give her a book to read over the weekend, to occupy her and also to keep her from working on her history paper all weekend long and making it a million times better than mine-lol ;D But when I got back to my room, I had only half an hour and no wrapping paper-I couldn't go back to the store! So I made some out of printer paper, tape, and pretty marker dots :D I felt like I was five years old, but it was fun, and she loved it!
Anyway, I probably can find SOME work to do on one of my many projects, or I can make more paper snowflakes and decorate with them, or write Christmas cards and make hot chocolate, or......lol It's gonna be hard concentratin when all I want to do is get ready for Christmas!

Everyone's getting ready for next semester. I just registered for all my classes~I'm not taking French for the first time since I graduated from 8th grade!! It's kind of sad, but it was really difficult to take two languages-it's hard enough to put even half of what one should be putting in to learning one language while attending school-and they were completely different from each other. Irish is definitely NOT a Romance language. And I'm taking a Shakespeare course-YAYAYAYAYYYYY!!!! times a million! Haha-I'm such an English major.
I might be moving this next semester. It's really nice because they have an Open Room Change period all set up-as a matter of fact, I think they have four of them throughout the year. No questions asked, you just work out where you're moving, and if it gets approved, you move. Sweet.

Hey, guess what???

TODAY IS HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE
!

I like to get really excited about things-that's the joy of being alive!! Plus, all my Lord of the Rings are out, so I can't be a freak about them in public anymore, but the Harry Potter books are pretty danged awesome, even if they're not Tolkien, and it's a pretty good surrogate obsession. We didn't go at midnight, although we could have-instead we had a marathon of the first three movies in Mary and Becca's room, with those two and Kasey and I. And then I had an 8:45 this morning-probably should have gone to bed slightly earlier than one in the morning, but you have to get into the spirit of things!!

And also, guess what else??

CHRISTMAS IS COMING!!!!!!

I really love Christmas. We've been singing carols since Halloween :D And Mary has her Christmas tree all set up in their room-I have to get lights and decorations when I go home for Thanksgiving.

And then we're trying to decide whether we should go to the Cotillion or not, although all of us love to get dressed up ;) We're not sure whether we feel like bringing dates either-it might be a girls' night, which would be awesome by me. The other way would be fine, too, but before I do anything I have to go home and cash my work study check and buy Christmas presents--;D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week is playing catch-up from all the things I should have been doing this past week when I had to be at play practice all the time. I have an English research paper I have to write this weekend, but I'm actually really excited to write it because the poet I picked, Gerard Manley Hopkins, is one of my favorites. We have to take a typical, canonical writer, and compare/ contrast with a newer writer from a different culture. The focus is on globalization, which I think is good and bad. Good, because there is so much literature and so many ideas out there that one would not be exposed to otherwise, bad, because then a lot of the typical works, the classics, are only skimmed, or cut out entirely. There's a reason they're classics!! These trendy English-book writers- :D
Last night Rebecca and I went to the kick-off of History Day, a competition for area schools and high schools to advance and champion the study of history. The competition is being held for the first time at Immaculata, which is a wonderful opportunity for us, to reach out into the area. We're going to be judges that day, too-yay!! and boss people around, which is always fun ;)
After the event was over, Rebecca, Rich, Dr. Watson, Dr. Ahtes, and I went to Kildare's, this really nice little Irish pub/restaurant in West Chester. That was fun, and the food was really good. It's great, I think, how I can do whatever I enjoy here-I'm an English major who's just very involved in the history department, and I work in admissions, so I get to do all sorts of events connected with new students and meeting people, and I dig in the dirt for artifacts at Duffy's Cut, and I have a bunch of friends in the Music department, so I know about those events, and attend them, too, when I can, and I'm in Cue and Curtain, which allows me to meet an entirely different group of people and do another thing I love: frolic about merrily on stage, and ahh, yay-I'm so glad to be in college!!

This weekend is going to be so exhausting, but also the culmination of an immense amount of work. The Mouse That Roared opens tonight at 8:00 in Alumnae Hall. I'm really excited for the play to go on, but I'll miss working on it. We did a full run-through last night, and it's going to be very funny-I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait!! We were so high-energy last night, and now add in the boost you get from an audience-it's going to be spectacular!!
