It must be getting close to midterms... I have so much to do!! Not only is SAIU planning a million things and I'm taking care of my hallway, but I still have to do all of the papers, presentations, and little petty assignments that come my way. Taking Advanced Comp and Literary Analysis and Research in the same semester might not have been a good idea. They're both major requirements, so it gets them done and out of the way, but blech!! Too many papers at once. Other than that, life's pretty ok--- I have my second teaching observations tomorrow, which I get excited for, and Natalie and I are planning our hallways' sundae and movie party. I get my bottom braces on this Friday. EW. Open House on Saturday, too, so maybe I'll see some of you there!! :-D

A new year!! I can hardly believe summer even happened, but it's nice to get back into a learning routine.

I guess I also spent a lot of summer here on campus (not as much as some people, though!). I worked New Student Orientation, which was cool, although it was a lot of work and when I got back home I was exhausted. Then, I had to come back on August 12th to start Resident Assistant training, and then I had Leadership Advance for being on SAIU, and then stuff for being a Mac Mentor, our Big Brother/ Big Sister program, and then the freshman moved in and classes started...... It's been a whirlwind!! A fun whirlwind, but every once in a while I feel slightly out of control, nonetheless.

Classes are enjoyable, although I already had my first paper due yesterday, and as for the social scene, as usual, there's always SOMETHING to do. We had a Luau two weeks ago or so, which was neat, with the pool open and music/ dancing in the Open Door, they've had a few mixers down there too, and then this Friday is the Back to School Bash. They have it outside on Library Commons, and there's usually a live band playing, and it's just a lot of fun. Tonight is a Dollar Does Dinner night, sponsored by campus ministry-- one dollar gets you a homemade meal, which is great, considering that after a month of the same food, everyone enjoys mixing it up a little.

Another thing I'm excited about is that this year, I start observations for my education certification--- every Thursday we go and observe at a different school. I am so psyched!!!
