Immaculata University: Sarah McClean

Thanksgiving is next week! I'm so excited. I think I dream of apple pie all year. It's funny though, Jim Gaffigan does this comedy bit about Thanksgiving. He talks about how we give thanks for how much we have by overeating. The other day in the cafeteria, campus ministry was measuring how much food we leave on our trays and don't eat. I don't know what the final poundage was, but I know I get "insurance" meals, just in case the other food I got is gross, so I'll be sure to have something to eat and not have to get up off my rear end again. This is Hunger and Homelessness Awareness week, and the awareness campaign on campus really has made me think about these things. We are so blessed, but "To whom much is given, much is expected."

This has been the most insane semester ever. I think every one of them feels that way though-- half the time I don't even remember how I finished two research papers in one night (probably because I was in a caffiene-induced conscious coma), but it all gets done somehow. I just wish there was more time! I want to learn these things for their own sake, but there's no time for that because I have to be concerned with grades. I think I want to take one class at a time for fun at a community college after I graduate, crazy courses I never had time to fit in with my major requirements and education classes.
