About me and IPFW...
I started my journey here to IPFW last summer. I graduated from an extremely small school, compared to those around here in Fort Wayne, it was called Edon High School; home to around 1000 kids, k-12. In my graduating class there were 59 students, so I'd never had a class that was bigger than 30 students. The town surrounding the school is almost the same case; it is home to around 1000 citizens. In Edon there is a grocery store, a gas station, a pizza place, two restaurants, a bank, library, and a fire hall. The town itself takes up a circle with a 1 mile radius, centering itself on the only stoplight in town. I guess the whole point in me telling this is so I can relate it to my new home.
Compared to Edon, Fort Wayne is a giant; and although Fort Wayne is the giant, IPFW is more like my old town of Edon. IPFW is one of a kind; they offering more personal help to students, affordable tuition, and classes that can be found at IU and PU campuses elsewhere.
The classes here are smaller than what classes at other colleges are. In order to get to the north part of campus it only takes like five minutes, whereas on other campuses I've seen it's almost necessary to take a bus across the campus to get to class on time. I also noticed on the other campus visits I've been to that IPFW's class buildings don't look old and decrepit and that they are up to date with computers, projects, and the like.
The biggest reason I came here, though was my impression that I wasn't just a number, but I was someone that they wanted, and also to know that if I ever have a problem I can talk about it to teachers, the many offices on campus, or even the Chancellor, himself!
Well unfortunately I have to run and do some homework for Calculus tomorrow, Wahoo...! Have yourself a great evening and if you have any questions feel free to contact me at andrewflips43518@msn.com or comment me and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
