Excitement!

I would have updated you all on what's going on sooner, but I went to Marion this weekend, and for some reason, the internet in our area was down! I almost died without facebook! :(

A few days ago, I received a phone call from Big Brothers Big Sisters and I am officially a Big Sister! I talked with someone from the agency, and I chose my Little ( The girl I will be a mentor for.) I'm extremely excited because I meet her on Tuesday! I have to go to her home, but someone from the agency will be with me. I know a little bit about her, but it will be interesting to meet her and see what she is really like.

Next Update: I just bought tickets to what I think is going to be one of the BEST concerts of the year! I'm going with 4 others to see Lil Wayne, Drake, Young Jeezy, Jeremih, and Soulja Boy in Noblesville, Indiana! (They're Rap & R&B artists.) Earlier this year, I went to see Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Keri Hilson, Gym Class Heroes, and a few others in concert, and it was AMAZING! I will definetly have pictures, but the concert isn't until August 28th--the first friday of the first WEEK of classes.

Speaking of the first week of classes, I can't wait! Yes, I know it sounds crazy for someone to be happy that classes are right around the corner, but I like staying in Fort Wayne more when class is in session. All of my friends will be back, and I'll be rooming with three of my favorite girls! Also, the campus will be brought back to life due to all of the activities that take place at IPFW. There is something to do everyday, and no I'm not exaggerating.

If anyone has any questions about campus, or just college life in general feel free to send me an email! :)

Halfway!

This week will be my 4th week of my Bio 204 summer class; I'm almost done! I'm doing very well so far and last week I got a 90 on my practical! I can't rejoice too long, though, because I have my second lecture test this coming Tuesday. This class is going so fast, but I'm glad I'm knocking it down in six weeks instead of a whole semester. It's not the easiest thing in the world, but it will be done soon enough!

I haven't really done anything interesting lately- I just relax, hang with friends sometimes, and STUDY! Last weekend I went to the Three Rivers Festival...there were a lot of different food stands & carnival rides, but I just went for the food. :) It was nice, minus the loud rock music! If tonight is the last night I might stop by with my boyfriend. Otherwise, it's back to the books!

I Like It!

Hope everyone had a good Fourth of July weekend! I know everyone was unhappy with the rain, but at least fireworks were still able to be shot into the skies! :)

For the 4th, I stayed in Marion and spent time with my mom, dad, and Paris. (Paris is my poodle, a member of our family!) My dad barbecued ribs, hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken on the grill; we had SO much food! Now that its almost a week later, I wish I could rewind.....I miss it already! Since I have not spent much time with my friends lately, we met up later that night to hang out. It ended up being a night with not much to do, but we always manage to have a good time!

On Tuesday, I had my first lecture exam in Bio 204! I was so nervous about it, and studied until my brain hurt, but it did pay off! I ended up getting a B+, so I feel pretty accomplished. Taking Biology in the summer is a challenge, but I like it because it's the only class I have to focus on, so I have more time to study. A few days ago we dissected a sheep's heart. I know it might sound kind of crazy at first, but it actually wasn't so bad! I found it somewhat interesting, but at the moment I'm still somewhat scarred and refuse to eat steak for a while. :( I'm glad I took the opportunity to get Bio. 204 out of the way this summer, despite the bad things I have heard about taking it as a summer course. This is another example that proves you just have to try things for yourself and see what fits you best!
