It's Official... I'm a Blogger
My name is Katie Bryer and I am going to be a senior at Lasell College. I am a double-major in accounting and finance and I love dealing with numbers.
I am originally from Dresden, Maine and graduated from Hall-Dale High School in 2004. One of my biggest passions that I carried with me from high school to Lasell is my love for Field Hockey. In high school I was the senior captain and received such awards like Kennebec Journal All-Star Second Team honors, Maine All-State honors, and academic awards. Since playing at Lasell College I have received multiple player-of-the week honors, National Academic squad honors, as well as a NAC Second team honorable mention. I am also one of the field hockey captains here at Lasell College.
All of these athletic accomplishments have motivated me to be a role model in school as well as out in the community. Along with being a work study in the Registrar's Office and my part-time waitressing job, I try to stay involved with volunteering. I have done many volunteer projects at Boston University and Boston College to raise money for the school and our field hockey program.
This summer I am an intern at CVS Store Support Center, in Woonsocket Rhode Island, which acts as their Corporate Headquarters. CVS is now a Fortune 20 company. I am interning in the Third Party Finance Department and have many responsibilities already. I really enjoy having a strict schedule and working with numbers, it helps me be more organized. Some of the things I have been doing are Forecasting for various accounts such as line fees and deposits. I have also been doing the daily cash reconciliations such as the adjusted trial balance and general ledger.
I have already learned so much at my time here with CVS that I am very eager to get back to Lasell in the fall to bring my knowledge of the real world into the classroom. It will be my senior year and I am very proud of my accomplishments here at Lasell and I truly am grateful for everything that I have learned and will continue to learn here.
