Long Time No See!
Hi Everyone!
Sorry that it has been so long since my last entry. Little did I know that senior year was going to be so busy all the time! Just to recap my year to date, field hockey ended and we made it all the way to the semi-finals of the NAC conference championships! I'm very proud of all the ladies and what we overcame this year!
I now work for Uno Chicago Grill as a waitress most of the week! It's my third year working there. I set my schedule up so that I only had classes from Monday to Wednesday! That’s the one great thing about Lasell is that you have the freedom to create a schedule that best fits your personal, and in some cases, working life.
I also work at the Registrar's Office this semester for close to 9 hours a week. That is also a bonus at Lasell, the work-study program is created around your class schedule and in most cases the individual you work for is very understanding of the typical business a college student experiences.
Recently, I have applied to four Master of Science in Accounting programs at Northeastern University, Fordham University, University of Maine, and the University of Albany. Northeastern recently sent my acceptance letter and I have already made the decision that NEU is where I am going! It's so funny how I was just going through this process when I was looking at schools for my undergrad degree.
Looking back, I definitely don't regret my decision to go to Lasell College. Yes, we are a small school where everyone knows your name, but there is a lot of opportunity in this area and Lasell is growing more rapidly than ever. The idea of Connected Learning at Lasell is a great way to learn. Instead of being lectured we actually participate in activities that portray our class material. This way, we are able to not only get the information from classes and textbooks, but we get the experience along with it. That is part of the reason I decided to go to Northeastern, for their co-op program.
As I look back on my four years here at Lasell College, I see it as a significant stepping stone in achieving my goals in life. I am definitely thankful for all the help that the faculty and coaches have had in making my time here be the best that it could ever be.
I will be checking back in soon! My next blog will be the introduction to my spring break trip... by the way I'm going to MIAMI!
-K
