Why I chose LHU and what I love about it: I chose LHU because it was smaller college with an intimate setting. I felt that it was the right environment for me to be successful. The professors that I met on my tour were so helpful and friendly. They were passionate about their job and made me want to attend. You are not just a number you professors know you by name. After class they hang around to answer your questions and you see them around campus.
Clubs/Organizations I'm involved with or plan to become involved: Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity — Alumni Chair, University Players — Member at Large, Presidential Peer Mediator, Black Student Union, Model United Nations Club, and Latino Student Association
Other personal interests: In my free time I enjoy long conversations in Bentley, hanging out at Wal-Mart, and watching Lifetime movies.

University Players Date Auction

Why do date auctions make so much money? This is definately the way you want to go if you want to raise money for your organization! We raised over 300 dollars and it was so last minute. I had so much fun and I ended up buying 2 ppl for ten dollars I got a deal. We didn't actually even have to go on a date. We had a date right in the same location. We had a band come and play and we brought several pizzas it was really laid back and fun. There were crowns given out for the highest auctioned off person. So when you come to the Haven join University Players because they are really fun!

Phi SIgma Pi Formal

This week was busy. Next week is our last week of classes. Our fraternity ended the semster with a bang. We had a formal. It was at this country club behind Wal-Mart. It was really nice.We had a different theme for each of the tables. I sat a Bermuda this had a lot of candles and flowers. The center piece was a bowl of water and floating candles! We had Paris, Japan, and Mexico. I definately recomend this location for any of your organizations formals. It's called Haywood. We also had a really nice admissions banquet on Thursday. I recieved a portfolio because I am a graduating senior Im ready to graduate and get out of here! It's time for me to spread my wings!

Arsenic and Old Lace

This weekend was the showing of our main stage play. It was Arsenic and Old Lace. It was a bout these two old ladies that were killing all these people and hiding them in the basement of their house. No one suspected them because they were so sweet! It was really a good piece of work. The set and the lighting was phenomenal! I want us to start doing some more meaning ful awareness plays. Maybe a play on Darfur or something.Im all about informing rather than doing plays we already know and like.

Infirmary

ON campus sometimes there is too much to do!!!!!!!!!!!! When it comes to me that is the case. On Friday I had 103 fever!!! The only reason I noticed that I was sick was because I had a headache. Thank goodness we have an infirmay on campus. I went there they took my insurance and gave me medicine. They said I had a sinus infection and a mtemperature. They gave me some antibiotics and mucinex! Mucinex is $14 in the store, and I got it for free. So use your resources wisely. This week I am going to be taking it easy. Aresenic and Old Lace opens which is another play I said I was not doing anymore but I am in love. I keep coming back. Did I mention we have a good Theatre department. Okay I think I plugged theatre enough for today. I lied we have a box office so you can order tickets online or in Sloan!

ALso last night the voted for a new exec board for the Black Student Union..YAY!! Tommorow KAPPA's are having a party at Fitness Unlimited which is downtown on main street and I am so excited. Stay tuned until next week. The countdown for graduation will begin on April 1st!!!

Playing Doctor

Last week before Break

Spring Break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well this Spring break I have to work on work because the play is over finally. It was a major sucess and also a learning experience. I have learned that acting and behind the scenes are two different things and I am only interested in acting. I don't like being someone's personal assistant especially when it seems that they have liottle respect for you! I am to strong willed and independent for that. Not to knock anyone else. I have a midterm the Monday after Spring break. Plays take a lot out of you so now I have to play catch up with some work I am behind on. I regret nothing though!

Now for the week at hand....

This week was also crazy. We had Monday off then Tuesday was the innaguration. OBAMMMMAAA. Okay I just felt compelled to say that. In every class I was watching it so LHU does support politics. Tuesday was also the last day to add classes. I need a math course so I was running around. My fraternity Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity is having rushes all this and next week. This weekend the ladies of Zeta Phi Beta from the divine nine are hosting a celebrity look alike party in Rogers gymnasium. I am contemplating who I want to be. With the right weave I can be anyone LOL. No but seriously is Marilyn Monroe a celebrity and could I just be the black version? Is that offensive? I don't think so. Until next week..... If you guys have any feedback or questions just reply!! Have a nice weekend and stay tuned to the weekly like of ALYSHA JANNAY JONES dunnn dun dunnnnnnnn...
