Party Scene

Friday was my best friend's birthday so we went to get our nails done, and then Red Lobster for dinner, and to the mall for a light shopping. This weekend Loc Entertainment threw a pajama party on Campus in Zimmerli gymnasium. That party was nice I would have preferred more reggae music but they had a decent turnout. The Kappas and Loc Entertainment hosted this party. My favorite party of this weekend was the Rep Your City party at Rogers Gymnasium. The previous weekend I was talking about going to the toga party, but I never actually made it. I did go to another campus party and it had a great turn out and the dj played every song that I liked so I was dancing, but there were so many people it was very hot in there. We had a lot of different schools that traveled up to our school. Lockhaven knows had to party too. You have to balance work and fun out. First you are here for academics and then you are here for expierience which includes fun too.

Debate Conference

I went along with four other students for a debate at California University. We debated if the Olympics should be used as a political platform. We argued that is should be and broke it down into three parts. We talked about the Olympics of 1968 and we actually got to meet Tommie Smith who I actually researched and mentioned in my speech. We beat them miserably and a track coach tried to undermine us. Mike shot him down and later on when we had Tommie Smith as a guest speaker I reposed the coach's question and Tommie shot it down instantly. After the key note speaker spoke the coach had to give a speech to save his reputation. It was such and outstanding oportunity, and feel so privelaged to have went. The University paid for everything. I am very much looking forward to attend more conferences in the future. On October 30-Nov 2 there is a Black Leadership Conference in Altoona. So stay posted. I will add some pictures later on from the debate. In their gift store they had a pink refridgerator I wanted to buy it as a souvenir. Next semester we hopefully will host the Conference at out school.

This week oOh BoY!

Today is Friday and it's raining. It's a perfect movie day. This week has been so crazy! I got cast in Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors Abridged! Yey, me but I have practice 24/7. I do like rehersals because we bond with the cast and we all get so close. At the same time I am a very social person and have sooooo many activities goin on. I try to be superwoman and do them all. We shall see what happens because I plan on running for Homecoming, in Phi sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity, BSU (Black Student Union), LSA (Latino Student Association), University Players (Theatre Group on Campus), Model UN (United Nations group on campus), and the presidential mentoring group. How do I do it all? I can't even answer that question. At the moment I am balancing 21 credits. If there is an over achiever it's me! On Wednesday Phi Sigma Pi had jello wrestling. This is our RUSH week and we had a fundraiser. Talk about getting slimey. Next time we need a bigger pool, because I don't want to win so easily next time. LOL I didn't get a chance to wrestle but it looked fun.Tonight I plan on relaxing having a Papa John's night maybe a litlle homework. I'll try no promises! Saturday Im going to Red Lobster. I'm hungry right now just thinking about it! Saturday night is the Kappa Alpha Psi Toga party. The new lifetime movie comes out Saturday night COCO CHANEL!!! I am so excited.

Summer

This summer I went to Spain and Paris! I was taking a Humanities Seminar class for the school it was amazing! They are on a 6 hour time difference it was cdrazy. I got to meet a lot of people most all of I still keep in touch with till this day. Madrid, Spain was like NYC they had so much shopping and attractions. Going out to eat you have to set aside 3 hours because they are very laid back. Potatoes are not called Papas in Spain they're called Patatas! Just when you get the language down they come with a new twist. I went to this seven story club called Kapital. It was hott. Each floor had a different type of music. If you ever study abroad bring lots of money or get a credit card. It is hard to exchange money but my M&T account worked over there they just added an exchanging fee. I went to this Hawwian restaurant. Now that was the spot. . I forgot to talk about Parieeeee!!! Bonjur mon ami....J' parle un petit francais...En inglais....Hi friends I speak a little bit of french... It was beautiful I have some amazing pictures. I really encourage anyone that can to study abroad it is such a beautiful expierience! I would do it again in a heart beat. The food in Paris-OMG! I can't wait to go back. If you study abroad here while you are in school there are scholarships so money will not be an issue. You can save up over a summer job and be good. Tre magnific no? Then you can hopefully learn many languages. Once you are over there you can go to many other places by train or plain for 60 Euros. It's a sweet deal!
