Holocaust Museum and Fashion show

The fashion show went off withouth a hitch. I am so exhausted from all that makeup and all thise girls. If someone does not want to say my name for the rest of the week I will be happy! We had real designers showcase their work. That was nice and the girls had clothes that they actually made. It was where fashion met dance, and there was a unique concept behind each scene. My life keeps going the fashion show ended at 12. Then The Black Student Union threw a party and that ended at 3:00 am. I had to board the bus to the Holocaust Museum at 5:00am. I had to go home and change it was a 4 hr bus ride to Washington D.C., and you best believe that I was knocked out to and from D.C. LOL The museum resembled everything that we discussed in the Holocaust Seminar class. What really hit me in the museum was genocide going on today in Sudan and Darfur. I did not know that they also have death camps that is in humane. I think i want to do something to help awareness on our campus next semster and I will use Christmas break to plan it.

Date Auction and Thanksgiving at the HAVEN

Thursday was the busiest day in the Haven. Black Student Union had a date auction. The date auction was to help get supplies for kids that needed some in the surrounding areas. Each item was worth a certain amount of points. I brought 30 notebooks and 25 folders and that equals 72 points. I brought my friend and in return I got free admitance to the Black and White Ball. After that we had a Thanksgiving dinner at the Haven I had macarooni and cheese, collagreens, chicken, sweet potatoes, salad, and bannana pudding. I cooked the banana pudding and everyone loved it! Then after that we had fashion show practice. Stay tuned for pictures and stories about the fashion show!

I will be hellping sew and pick out designs. Also I will be helping out with some bole makeup designs. Also I am making bannana pudding for the Thanksgiving dinner next Thursday. So I need to get ahead of the game so I am dedicating this weekend to a movie and studying! I need to stay ahead of the game. Also this week we have sign ups to go see the innaguration of our president for free. We are going down to Washington D.C. to make history! I am so excited eventhough it is next semester. Robert De Lynch Student Leadership Development on Higher Education

This Conference has changed my life tremendusosly. As a wom an, minority, and as a leader. This was a 3 day intense conference. Containing speakers from all of the state schools and honorary speakers. These were the best of the best. You were able to pick what seminars/ workshops that you went to. Since I am graduating in the spring I chose more career and buisness orientated seminars. I chose "Transitioning from College to Career", "Media in the Work Place", "Spiritual Leadership", "Oral Language in the Buisness World" this was only in one day. I did so much networking that I have so many contact people when I graduate so that if I ever need a job there is no reason that I should not have one. I even found a speaker to speak at The Breast Cancer dinner that I want to have in the spring for free. That reminds me that none of the speakers were paid for they all volunteered to help donate to the education of "scholars" us!!!! This is the best conference that I have ever attended because it has not only changed my viewpoints of myself but my outlook on the world. The University payed for the whole weekend and it was worth it! I won an award!!!!! yey me!!!! It was an Oustanding Leadership award. This could be you in two years.
