Almost spring break

So this week has been really busy with multiple exams and papers due. I have done a lot of studying, but I did take time Wednesday to go and climb as usual. I am getting much better at the climbing wall.
After climbing wednesday I met my friend Kristy and we headed up to the smart center on the math floor to work on our linear programming problem set. We had worked on it earlier in the week also, but really wanted to finish it so we didn't have to worry about it right before it was due (which is friday). I have to say that working with a friend on homework makes it so much more fun and it makes it easier to understand. It helps to also write our problems up on the chalk board. We were so very excited to finish up our work at 11:40 pm on wednesday and we made sure to leave a note for our professor (who I think believes that we are two crazy girls).
The rest of the week has been busy and I am so glad that it is almost the weekend and spring break. I will be spending break up here in Lock Haven working and having some fun and catching up on some work.

Week 6... wow

I can't believe that week 6 is over already. This semester is flying by and I have been so busy. I do like to stay busy and not sit and let this time in college pass me by, but I didn't realize it would pass so quickly.
This week in outing club we had a couple guys come and talk to us about ice climbing. It seemed interesting, but I am not sure if it is for me. I really enjoy rock climbing and I go to the climbing wall everyweek with some friends to practice. I am getting better with all the practice. We play a game called horse where each person does the moves and adds on a move each time, Now, I am only 5 foot tall and the people I climb with are much taller, up to 6 foot. They like to make moves that are hard for me, but I am getting better. I am no longer afraid to jump for the holds. If I fall I know that I will land on the mat so I won't be hurt.
Two weeks ago we made pop can stoves at outing club. Mine rocks and didn't leak at all. I was able to make some noodle soup at my apartment with it and my enamel cup for camping. I am excited to try it out when I go packpacking next time. I just have to figure out easy things to cook with it.

Week 5 done and gone... thankfully

This has been a crazy busy week. I had to run around and get some things set for next semester. I will be presenting my portfolio this semester so I had to apply for that, I will be going into my professional block next semester so I had to apply for that, and I will be student teaching in the spring of 2010 so I had to apply for that. Of course all these applications are due on Friday so I wanted to get them in today. On top of that I had my normal class work to do which involves a lot of reading. So, I am thankful that this week is almost over.
Tonight, we had a physics club pizza and talk night. We all did presentations on medical physics. I am working on MRI's with another student. It is interesting how magnets are used to align the molecules in the body to pin point specific areas of the body that pictures are needed of. We will be presenting our research later on in the semester to the students in the health science department.
This past weekend, which now seems so far away, was so much fun. The outing club took a trip to a boy scout camp in the Pocono’s and we spent the weekend camping. It was very cold Friday night, so cold that my nalgenes were frozen solid when I woke up in the morning. Saturday we went cross country skiing again. I absolutely love it, I can finally go down a hill without feeling the need to sit down because I think I am going too fast. It did get cold again Saturday night. The road was frozen in front of the cabin and the one car started to slide down the hill. We could have skated on the road. It was a lot of fun with a great group of people.
Now it is almost the weekend again and I am thankful for the break that I can sleep a little later than normal. I am also hoping to catch up on some homework and finish my portfolio this weekend.

Week 4 already

So this has been a good, but long week. I am glad that it is almost the weekend again. Last weekend was amazing. I worked in the morning on Saturday in the admissions office. We had a nanotechnology open house. After work I met up with my friend Kristy to work on our porblem set for Linear Programming. Once that was done I was free to relax and watch some movies and play some games with some friends. Sunday morning we all met up on campus and went cross country skiing on the eagleton mine camp trail. I had never been cross country skiing before and it was so much fun. Of course I may not have fallen so much if the boots were not 5 sizes too big! It was all good though because I we are planning on going again this weekend and I have smaller boots to use.
This week is classes I had a lot of work to do. In intermediate reading we did a project where we had to pick something from the book we are reading, Bloomabilty, and make a scrapbook page with that something. We chose to take pictures and resipies from different countries and discribe them in the scrapbook. I also had my linear programming set due Monday and I have my first exam tomorrow. I have been studying because I really need to do well in the class. I have an assessment exam on Monday so I will be studying for that at some point this weekend.
Well, I am off to do some more studying before bed. Have a great weekend all!
