Happy Birthday Cindy!

I am starting odd this post wishing my sister a happy 30th birthday. She turned on Tuesday, I wish I was able to celebrate with her, but sheos pver 8 hours away.

This past weekend we had open house for the admissions office. It went very well in my opinion. I, as I am sure I have said in the past, do the physics/engineering tours. Well, I was bery happy with the turnout on Saturday, there were 9 families. Dr. Reid, one of our physics professors, hosted for the physcis department along wth Lax, one of the associate professors. I thinnk that the families were happy with the presentation and the tour.

Wednesday we did a fun hike with the outing club. We did part of the donut hole trail, which is just about 10 minutes from campus. It was great being able to get out and enjoy such a beautiful day. Once the hike was over, though, I had to come back and do some homework. This semester is really keeping me busy.

Well, now I am off to do some work before class in the morning.

My Birthday Week

So this week is my birthday week. Wednesday actually was my birthday and I have to thank all my friends and family for all my birthday wishes. Over the weekend I didn't do much. I chilled with some friends and did a lot of homework. We are winding down in the semester so I have a ton of work to get done.
Wendesday being my birthday I didn't get to do much that was fun. I had class all day long, work from 1-3:00, a presidents meeting for club stuff 5-5:45 and then an interview at 6. So I didn't get to go on the hike that I wanted to go on on my birthday, but I did get to go fishing the next day. Did you know that an non-resident fishing liscence is $60? I was very surprised at that, but I think it is worth it. I grew up fishing and I love to fish. Though, fishing in a creek is much different than fishing in the ocean or bay. I am sure that I will get much better with practice. Well, for now I am going to go and do some homework... till next week.

What a busy week

This was a very long and busy week. I had spring break last week which was grea because I was able to take a break, but now I am back into the full swing of things.
I had an exam in Linear programming on Wednesday so Tuesday night Kristy and I spent a few hours studying in our favorite place... the smart center! I then went back to my apartment and finished my lesson plans that I thought were due at 8 am, but they weren't due till midnight. All the studying did pay off... I aced my exam!
Friday was great. We celebrated "pi" day in the math club, althrough "pi" day was really Saturday (3/14). We were able to throw whipped cream pies at some of our professors. It was a great way to celebrate a math holiday.

Spring Break

This week is spring break and it started on Friday. That friday I went with the physics club to an elementary school to do a demo show for the students at a science night. After the show we had tables set up for the kids to try some of our small demos. The kids, and us too, had a great time.
My spring break has been quite low key. I have been working all week and just doing some homework and relaxing at night. On Thursday though I decided I needed a day off to do something fun and since the weather was amazingly nice it was the perfect day. We had plans to go kayaking, but there was too much ice on Pine Creek for me (I am more confident in my skill to end up upsidedown rather than stay right side up). So since there was ice we went to Ravensburg state park instead and did some climbing and walking around. It is such a beautiful and relaxing park to spend time in.
Well, I have procrastinated enough for the week so I am going to have to get working on the pile of homework that I need to finish before next week.
