So for this past weekend I was unable to get out and paddle because I have been on duty. I was able to get out once last week before duty days at least and I had a great time with Andrea and Jared playing at Spring Creek.

Overall, it was not a bad weekend. I was able to go to my cousin'd baby shower. Karey is having a little boy, Colin. He will be making his apperance in September. It is so exciting to have another little boy in the family!

Once again it was the family reunion weekend. THis year was the 35th anual Mihalik Family Reunion. Each year it is held in Snow Shoe, PA. This year it was strange because it was cold out. It was breezy and it rained and was totally oppsite of every other year. The family reunion weekend is usually totally hot, humid, and sticky. It was a good time hanging out with the extended family and seeing my little cousins, although they are really not so little anymore. Sarah and Heather are 13 and 15 and Sarah is taller than me and Heather is my height. It is crazy to see them growing up, especially since Heather will be getting her permit so soon (yikes!). Overall, it was a fun time with the family.

So this past weekend Ashley and I went to go and visit some friends of our out by the Lehigh River. We went paddling on Saturday and then spent the night camping at their boy scout camp where they all work. We had a lot of fun joking around and talking since we had not all hung out in a long time. Paddling with DJ, Joey, and Ashley was a lot of fun. I had never been through the Gourge section of the Lehigh before. We had a good time with only one swim by Ashley. And of course I threw in a few rolls.

Sunday morning we drove back to Lock Haven becuase Ashley and I both had to work on Monday. Over all it was a very fun weeeknd.

So this past weekend I went to NJ to go and visit my family. I haven't seen them in a couple of months, so it was nice to go and see them. I was able to spend time just hanging out, fishing with my dad, and just helping around the house. I was also able to see all of the neighbors. Now, in my neighborhood we are extremly close to the neighbors. They are just like family and let me say... the neighborhood would not be the same without them. We had 2 bbq's over the weekend. I was happy to see my family, even if it was a 5 hour drive home to NJ.

This week I was out paddling (I know, big surprise). I went to spring creek with Andrea and was practicing my bow stall. I have been only able to hold it for a few seconds, but it is a start. In order to say that I have it on the "trick list page" with a local whitewater group I have to be able to hold it for 10 seconds. So I will have to practice practice practice!!
