I choose MCCC because it is affordability and is located close to my home. I love it at MCCC. I've made many friends and have had many valuable opportunities, such as being involved in Student Government as the Vice President and Treasurer as well as the founder of Love Bags. Love Bags is a charity that provides needed and comfort items to children in foster care. I am also the President of Doug's Corner, a community service club at MCCC. As a Peer Mentor I get to help students with all the things I wish I would have had help with when I first started. Things like logging into WebAdvisor, and Blackboard, and figuring out where classes are. Finally as a Peer Mentor I get to tell students all about the great clubs and activities here at MCCC. Montgomery County Community College is a GREAT place to be!

Who's Who

So at the moment I am sitting at a computer in the faculty staff dinning room at Central Campus having just finished breakfast and waiting for graduation practice to start. This has been a crazy week. Yesterday was the Graduation Awards Ceremony at the gorgeous Presidential Caterers. I was there to receive the President's Distinguished Service Award, what an amazing honor. Today, I am at Central having breakfast to honor my nomination into Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges.

Boredom!

So in about a week I will be an MCCC Alumni, again. LOL. This time around I'll be graduating with my associates in Elementary Education. This time around it's the end of the road at MCCC for me. I'm moving on, so to speak. Currently I'm sitting at the Peer Mentor cubicle typing away wondering what else I could be doing (should be doing) and I'm left kinda blank for the first time in months. Boredom is setting in, lol. A feeling that I had forgotten I could have. I don't like being bored, I do like having nothing pertinent to do, but having nothing to do at all is so not fun. Soon I will have plenty to do, watching about 8 kids at my other job as a daycare teacher. Then the craziness will begin. Juggling work and school is hard, I couldn't image juggling that and a family. It leaves me in awe over those who do it day in and day out. But for now, me and my bored and awed self is headed to work. Until next time...
