Dana So at the moment I am sitting at a computer in the faculty staff dinning room at Central Campus having just finished breakfast and waiting for graduation practice to start. This has been a crazy week. Yesterday was the Graduation Awards Ceremony at the gorgeous Presidential Caterers. I was there to receive the President's Distinguished Service Award, what an amazing honor. So in about a week I will be an MCCC Alumni, again. LOL. This time around I'll be graduating with my associates in Elementary Education. This time around it's the end of the road at MCCC for me. I'm moving...

Dana So in about a week I will be an MCCC Alumni, again. LOL. This time around I'll be graduating with my associates in Elementary Education. This time around it's the end of the road at MCCC for me. I'm moving on, so to speak. Currently I'm sitting at the Peer Mentor cubicle typing away wondering what else I could be doing (should be doing) and I'm left kinda blank for the first time in months. Boredom is setting in, lol. A feeling that I had forgotten I could have. I don't like being bored, I do like having nothing pertinent to do, but having nothing to do at all is so not fun. Soon I will have plenty to do, watching about 8 kids at my other job as a daycare teacher. Then the craziness will begin. Juggling work and school is hard, I couldn't image juggling that and a family. It leaves me in awe over those who do it day in and day out. So on Friday April 18th I received my official acceptance letter into Bucknell University!!! I am so excited, I have worked so hard and I am so proud of myself. (So are a lot of other people) But my time...

Dana So on Friday April 18th I received my official acceptance letter into Bucknell University!!! I am so excited, I have worked so hard and I am so proud of myself. (So are a lot of other people) But my time here isn't over just yet and as excited as I am about the prospect of new things, I'm left a little sad about what I will be leaving. The people and the atmosphere, I'll miss it all. I'll miss being a stones throw away from home, from my family and friends. I've learned so much about myself in my time here and I hope that it is something that all past, future and current graduates can say about theirexperience. My parting advice would be to make the most out of any and all opportunites that come your way. Dana What surprises me most about my school is the love and passion that many of the members of faculty, staff and administration have for what they do. At MCCC the people here love their jobs and it shows in their interaction with students and co-workers. I myself have developed amazing relationships and friendships that will continue even after I graduate. One such person who has had an impact on me is Cindy Murphy, she is a woman who wears many hats. I know her best as the advisor of Doug's Couner, a club that works at getting students involved in the College and the community and whose activities provide them with opportunities for social interaction, while raising money for local and sometimes national charities. Cindy as been and continues to be a vital asset to my college experience. I have gone to her for many things. Things such as academic issues, boy trouble, mom trouble, and life in general. She is always willing to take some time out of her hectic day to listen and give some advice no matter how busy she may be. She helps to keep me grounded and always has a way of seeing the bright side of things.
