What is your favorite class that you’ve taken so far?

One of the best classes I've taken so far here has to be A&P (Anatomy and Physiology). I totally agree when people say it is hard (sometimes is way too hard) but definitely the instructor makes a huge difference. I had the great luck of having Albert Baccari as my instructor. He is as great as I'm sure all the Biology instructors are but he really puts a spin on everything he teaches. From singing, yelling, dancing, crazy analogies, joking, and sometimes even standing on top of desks, Albert or Uncle Al, as he requires his students to call him, makes the process of learning complex concepts a lot easier. Learning about the human body can get extremely exciting as much people won't think and if you are disciplined enough to learn as much as you can about it it will change your whole point of view of how your body really works.

College: a time to redeem yourself?

I really changed a lot! In my high school years, to be honest, I wasn’t a really good student. When I was in high school I kind of took classes as a joke. I think it probably was because in high school there is always someone that ends up helping you or doing things for you and also your parents are extremely involved in everything; you’re not doing things entirely on your own! Now that I’m here things have changed radically. I have learned to manage my time and classes much more seriously. College definitely exposes you to a much more independent environment and almost forces you to take a more active role in your education. I am now a really good student (yep, straight A’s!) because I have changed my way of thinking and now I’m more aware that I’m responsible for my future!! And that what I’m doing now is the foundation for it. I really think that College gives you a great opportunity to redeem yourself, take a new point of view, and start building your future.
