Happy Thanksgiving

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone's week is going well. We have been experiencing some wintry weather here at the college the past couple of days. After some nice, warm November days, the winter weather has finally come full-force. Thanksgiving break is officially beginning for everyone after their last class! I am heading home after my Anatomy and Physiology II class lets out at 9:00. Everyone on campus is in a great mood because of the break. Everyone is wishing everyone else a good Thanksgiving and safe travels home. It is one of the reasons I love it here. People are always courteous and caring toward each other.

I am excied to go home and spend some quality time with friends and family. I will not get home until around midnight because it takes three hours to get home. However, the somewhat long drive home is always worth it. The family member I always look for first is my two-year-old niece Kylee. I miss her so much when I am out at the Mount and am always excited to see her.

Another eventful week...

Hi everyone!

I hope you all had a good week. For those still in school...only a few more days until Thanksgiving break! It was just another week for me. Finishing up with the semester; trying to get all my work done. One of the projects I am doing for my physics class is a nature trail proposal. We are divided into groups of four and have to map out a nature trail for our campus. Our group recently drew up our proposal for the nature trail. It includes a pavilion, bridges and a few benches. It will be a great asset to our campus if we could get the approval for it. It would benefit the college community as well as the Cresson community. Our poster looks very good and we are excited to present it next week.

This past weekend I went home for the day to go to a friend's wedding. It was nice to see everyone from back home, since it was a while since I was home last. I also couldn't help to notice that a gas station close to my home was $1.86! It was the most amazing thing I saw all week, and I definitely made sure to stop and get some cheap gas!

When I got back to school, I couldn't believe that there were only two days next week until Thanksgiving break. As I say in every blog.....the semester is just flying by..haha. I am excited to go home yet again and see more of my friends and family from back home. Even though I love the Mount greatly....it is always good to go home and see the people i've known forever.

Well this is all for me and until next time, cya later!

Last Cross Country Meet

Hi Everyone

I recently just got back from my last race as a Mountie Cross Country runner. It was a great experience for us, as together we made history in becoming the first cross country team from Mount Aloysius College to participate in Regionals in Waynesburg, PA (I made a mistake with the location last week). The race was the biggest any of us ever participated in. There were 55 teams and over 300 runners. It was a really fun race to participate in.

As you may remember, I said that this past week was going to be very busy for me....as it was. I actually had five tests (last week I said four) and a paper. I did well on my tests and paper, and am glad that the past week is over, haha. This week should not be as stressful.

Sunday, some members of the PT club and I are heading up to Dallas, PA to visit some of the Sisters of Mercy at the Mercy Center. I am very excited to visit and chat with many of the Sisters there. I absolutely love all the Sisters here at Mount Aloysius and am anxious to go and visit with many more. I think their mission and philosophy is simply amazing and I look forward to hearing their stories.

Well this is all for me. Have a great week and until next time, cya later

A Halloween weekend and the Election!

Hi Everyone

I hope you all had a great week. This week just flew by. I cannot believe we only have 5 weeks left in the semester! I had a fun Halloween weekend. I went to see some of my friends from back home at Penn State on Friday. It was great to see everyone again and we had a great time. Then, I had my cross country conference championship on Saturday in Altoona. Our team did very good. We finished 7th place out of 10 teams. This was a great improvement from last year, when we finished last. We have only one more race left. We go to Waynesboro for regionals Saturday November 15th! It is going to be a very big race and we are very excited to be a part of it.

I was also very excited for the election. I am very interested in politics and have been following the election for the past two years. I am a big McCain supporter and was disappointed at the outcome. However, it was still an exciting election and I have nothing but respect for President-Elect Obama. I already voted by absentee, however, there was a van provided to take students to the voting site to cast their vote. It was such an amazing voter turnout this year.

The upcoming week is going to be very busy for me. I have four tests and two papers due. Therefore this weekend I will be spending most of my time studying.....gotta keep up the grades!

Well this is all for today and until next time, cya later.
