Midterms

Things are busy, busy, busy.
Students are studying hard, writing papers, and planning presentations.
Faculty are designing assessments, preparing lectures, and grading. This is the time when communication is key, and clear expectations from both faculty and students help keep courses on track. My goal in science is to educate not only in content of scientific material, but to also produce informed citizens who can make decisions based on fact, and not just opinion.

I'm excited about planning a new course for next summer that will focus on Abandoned Mine Drainage. This 3 credit science course will be linked with 3 credits of English in which students will get ACTIVE in community issues, water quality in particular.

I hope all is well with you, and you've been enjoying the later summer sunshine. (I'll remind you of that in January when we have snow!)

Best,
Dr. A.
