Showing Off

This weekend I'll be attending a meeting of the Allegheny Branch of the American Society of Microbiology. There will be students and faculty from the surrounding region and I can't wait to share some work that our students have been doing. I'll be presenting a slide show of the student participation in cleaning up local abandoned mine drainage sites. I'm so proud! And I hope this is just the beginning of many projects that get students outside and working on real issues in the community. If you're interested, you can take SC 326, Integrated Life Science, in the spring 2008 semester, and you can put on the hip boots and get dirty too!
Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
