First Week

We made it through the first week of the spring semester!
I'm still learning names, but I can already tell I've got talented, creative students. I'm teaching Bio II, a new course for me, and I LOVE IT. Class flies by, and students had a great time in lab playing with mud to make a Winogradsky column. I'll post some pictures soon. I'm also teaching Microbiology and Integrated Science, with some new twists on assignments that have students out in the field collecting samples. The Science and Math department is in the process of hiring two faculty, and we have amazing candidates visiting campus for interviews. I've been bragging about the quality of our students, and the projects they've been involved with. And there's some time for extracurricular events- I'm looking forward to Monday (the 21st) -time for a great rivalry basketball game- starting at 6 with the womens team. Go Mounties!
