Rocky Horror

I coordinated a trip with Res Life to go see "The Rocky Horror Show Live!" at Cresson Lake Playhouse. It was fun. My friends Ross and Matt were in it. Ross played the part of Riff Raff and Matt was Rocky. Let me tell you, these guys were awesome at their roles. Ross made a hunch back for Riff and Matt is incredibly muscular to begin with. There were 13 MAC students there and all of us had a blast! The audience was very good and responsive in terms of call backs and having a good time. There were a couple of times that we got the actors to break character. I LOVED IT!!! I, naturally, dressed up as a sexy Brad. Ashley and I sat in the front row and I was pulled out to the stage to start the show with "Gimmie an R!" If there are any Rocky fans out there, you know what I'm talkin' about. It was great and everyone with an open mind should see a live production of this show.

Singing in Altoona

Vox Nova joined the Altoona Symphony last weekend to sing an evening of Broadway tunes. With Vox Nova was the IUP chorus. The first act was Rogers and Hammerstein and the second act was Lerner and Loewe. I only knew half of the songs and I knew even less of the shows that they were from. But I had a good time. Mr. Greg Brant was the Baritone soloist and he was amazing!! His performance alone could win over any audience!

Movie Magic: Part II

Apple has finally posted the gallery of films to be voted upon. There are 1,900 entries from college students for America to vote on. To see my film, "The Last ONE" go to http://edcommunity.apple.com/insomnia_fall07/item.php?itemID=480&condition=3 You need an Apple ID to vote. It's free to get one, you only need an email address. Most people use this ID to buy music from the iTunes store. I hope that you watch the movie and vote 4 stars. If this movie makes it to the semi-final round (Top 25) then my team will have a premiere of our film at the closest Apple Store (Pittsburgh). And if we win the contest, the team members get new Apple Macbook Pros and some really cool software to make better movies. Please watch the video and vote. And more importantly, tell all of your friends to do the same!

Movie Magic

Last weekend, my cousin Renold, his friend Mark, and my friend Ross from school here, partook in a movie making festival through Apple.com called the Insomnia Film Festival. The contest is to make a 3 minute movie within 24 hours. There was a list of required elements that are to be used in the film. This list was not posted until 24 hours prior to the submission deadline. We had a blast making this movie. Our story is about a hit man (Ross) that gets a mission call to take out Mr. Robin Darjeeling (Me). Renold played "The Boss" who called out the hit. The film shows the cell phone self-destruct, Ross has a car chase, and rides off in a boat to a secluded area where Robin Darjeeling is hiding. You will have to watch the movie when it comes out to see how it ends.

New Doo

The Winter Activist Club has been doing a raffle to cut my hair. The winner got to cut my hair however they wanted and I had to wear it that way for a week. Well, Misti Smith from the Library won and got to cut my hair today. She had some assistance from Sue Brugh and Tama Rice. Their masterpiece consisted of a Mohawk with a Mullet. It looks pretty cool. I have to keep it this way for a week so if you see me, you'll know why I look like I stepped out of the 80s.

Fright Nite

I went with a bus-load of residents to go to Fright Nites at Kennywod Park in Pittsburgh. The stuff that we got to do was fun. The lines were not. I guess it can't always be fun. The first haunted maze was an hour and a half wait for us. The sign out front said 45 minutes but it definitely was not. The wait made me want to get an iPod so that I could prepare with a couple of movies that I haven't seen before and watch them while I wait in line. It seems like a great idea. I got to go through the Pirate Maze and a new maze that is off the beaten path. I also got on the Pitt Fall. I think that was my favorite ride, or at least my favorite ride that I got to go on.

We didn't get back to campus until three in the morning. I'm really glad that I went to Saturday night mass so I did't have to get up.

Really Embarrassing

Last Friday I was selling some raffle tickets for WAC in Pierce Hall. Please keep in mind that I am never in Pierce Hall. I was selling tickets for the raffle to cut my hair when it suddenly struck me: the urge to fulfill the mission of mother nature. It wasn't one of the run-o-the-mill callings either, it was a red alert/emergency lights are flashing type of calling. So I take off for the restroom and duck into a stall and let things run as intended. Shortly after, I stood up and over the stall I could see a machine mounted to the wall that dispenses feminie hygenie products. It struck me. I'm not in Kansas anymore. So I tried to quickly make an escape but failed. Right outside of the stall two females were waiting. They said, "We knew those weren't girls shoes." I was extremely embarrassed about this. But I am over it because I can recognize how incredibly funny the story is. Let me explain, for the record, that on the main and lower levels of Pierce Hall, the mens room is located to the left. But for some reason beyond the thinking capacity of the mere mortal, the men's room for the third floor is on the right. Well, well, Mr. Architect, the joke's on me. I've heard that I wasn't the first and I am positive that I won't be the last.

For those of you in the world who depend on the restroom system being uniform, ATTENTION: The restrooms for the third floor of Pierce Hall are reversed from the rest of the building.

I thought I would make some good from my misfortune so that others don't make the same mistake.

Residents Strike Again at the Drive-ins

We went to the Bar Ann Drive-ins on Friday as a program through Res. Life. We took 17 students and had a blast. Actually, most of the kids were sad to find out that the drive-in is closed for the season until April.

It was a triple feature weekend and it still only cost the residents $3.00. Great deal for college students! The first movie was "Hot Rod". I enjoyed it because it was similar to my life in the aspect that I can be very random.

The second movie was "Shoot 'Em Up". To me, they might have called it superbad because it was missing a logical storyline. It was a phenominal action movie, but a terrible story. It is about this man (Clive Owen) who distributes his own justice. As a character trait, Clive is always eating raw carrots and uses them as weaponry. It was soo cool!

The third movie was "Superbad." Awesome!! Buy the DVD when it comes out!

I would recommend all of these movies, except for "Shoot 'Em Up" unless you like pointless action.
