"Painting Churches"

I saw the Mount Aloysius production of "Painting Churches" Saturday night. It was pretty good. It was Ms. Lydia Dabrawalsky's first major production and she created a wonderful finished product. It is sad that there were only two performances, but I guess that means that both shows would have strong attendance. Justin Cox played an older gentleman who was an award-winning poet who was losing his mind and Jen Barton played his wife that spent most of her days making sure he didn't hurt himself. They are in the process of moving when their daughter comes home for a visit. Jen and Justin were very funny together and had excellent chemistry. It was a funny show that had other emotional dynamics. There were sad points. The saddest for me was when Jen had to explain how bad Justin had lost his mind.

It was a good show. If you missed it, I guess you will have to get to the next one and see it twice to make up for this time.

Comments

Special thanks should also go to Mr. Fred Vrabel and his Scene Design and Lighting Class. He is very talented in the dramatic field and his involvement in the play was great.
