The Begining and the End

A couple weeks ago, the college had a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Residence Hall that is being built to accommodate the ever-growing residential community. Sadly, the day of the groundbreaking, it was not very nice outside. Due to the weather, the groundbreaking took place in Cosgrave, the student center. It didn't have the same feel but I chuckle every time that I recall the Carpet-breaking, as I like to call it.

To remedy the fact that the actual ceremony didn't involve dirt or the site of the new building, I brought it upon myself to have my own groundbreaking. Unfortunately, the only tools I could get my hands on were on loan from the Little People's Place.

With the construction underway, the spring semester is coming to a close. Graduation is this Saturday and my girlfriend, Ashley, is going to be walking. She will be getting a BA in English and a BA in Sign Language Interpreting. She is very excited and will be applying her skill with the Minnesota Conservation Corps. She will serve as a counselor and an interpretor for deaf campers.

I hope that everyone has a fun and safe summer. I enjoyed blogging and I hope that you enjoyed reading it. I will be back next fall with lots to share. Between my internship and summer classes, I am confident that I will have some material to write about.

Have fun!!

I'm so NAKED!!

That's right, you read the title right. I'm naked...without my BRACES!! I got my braces off the same week that our spring semester play opened. I was three weeks shy of having my braces for one year. It feels really nice to have straight and smooth teeth. I did not tell the people that are close to me, because I wanted to surprise them. Ashley noticed in .8 seconds. It was quite comical. My parents noticed when they came to see the play.
The play, "I Take This Man," went very well. It had a wonderful cast and it was great that most people had more than one favorite actor. I was the cop, Officer Jud Keegan, and my part was very small but for some reason the audience really enjoyed my performance.
I'm glad that my braces were off for the play, I don't know too many real cops who have braces. Yay for no braces!!
