My name is Jason Horton and I'm from Shrewsbury Massachusetts. I'm a member of Northeastern's Class of 2009, which makes me a senior or fifth-year student. I'm a Business Administration major with a concentration in accounting as well as a criminal justice minor. After I graduate, I would love to join the FBI as a forensic or investigate accountant. I have been on three co-ops with Deloitte and Touche where I've gained great hands-on experience that I was able to bring back to the classroom.

At Northeastern, I am involved in the Resident Student Association (RSA), which is the premier programming organization on campus, planning awesome programs for residents. This summer I am a member of the 2008 Orientation Team, serving as an Orientation Leader. I will also be a Resident Assistant starting this fall.

Thanksgiving Break is Nice!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! For my first blog entry of the year, I'll tell you all a little bit more about me.

As you can see from my bio, I am a junior. Yes...I was once a Middler here. Because you can choose to enroll in a five year program at Northeastern, Middler year is stuck in between Sophomore and Junior year.

I've been on two co-ops with Deloitte and Touche, which is one of the Big Four Accounting firms. I was part of their audit department, completing audits of major companies in the Boston area. My co-op there lasted from January to May both years. Co-op is a great break from school. You not only gain great work experience, get paid very well, but you also don't have to pay tuition while working!

On campus I am very involved with the Resident Student Association (RSA). This is the premier programming body on the campus. I am the Vice President for Finance of the group. So basically, I control any money that is distributed to the Resident Assistants or any of the hall councils for programs that occur in the halls. We go on awesome whitewater rafting trips, ski trips, paintballing, and even skydiving. We plan a formal dance for Northeastern in February, called the Snow ball. There will be 1,000 people in attendance! We also plan The Amazing Husky Hunt. This is a 24 hour scavenger hunt throughout the city. There are 50 teams of 12, therefore 600 people are running all over the city for 24 hours! The members of the winning team each get a round-trip ticket on Jet Blue. All in all, we are the BEST organization on campus.

I am currently in classes which will end December 6th. I'm very excited to head back out on co-op. It's so much easier just going to work all day and coming home with NO homework to do.

Well that's my life in a nutshell....I'll be back soon!

Below is a picture of the executive board of RSA. We were at an internal conference for the weekend, where there was a Mexican theme, hence the sombreros.
