My name is Jason Horton and I'm from Shrewsbury Massachusetts. I'm a member of Northeastern's Class of 2009, which makes me a senior or fifth-year student. I'm a Business Administration major with a concentration in accounting as well as a criminal justice minor. After I graduate, I would love to join the FBI as a forensic or investigate accountant. I have been on three co-ops with Deloitte and Touche where I've gained great hands-on experience that I was able to bring back to the classroom.

At Northeastern, I am involved in the Resident Student Association (RSA), which is the premier programming organization on campus, planning awesome programs for residents. This summer I am a member of the 2008 Orientation Team, serving as an Orientation Leader. I will also be a Resident Assistant starting this fall.

Orientation Training 2008!

Orientation Training has begun! This is my second week living in Stetson East with all the 2008 Orientation Leaders. We have been training and planning every day for the arrival of the incoming class of 2013. The thirty of us have become very close over the past few weeks!

In our first week of training we took a trip to Ashland, MA to the Warren Conference Center, a facility owned by Northeastern University. This was a jam packed day full of ice breakers, bonding, and even a high ropes course. We did an activity called the flying squirrel. Basically, there is one person strapped into a harness threaded with a rope that goes up into a pulley about 75 feet off the ground. The rest of the team has the other end of the rope, and the person in the harness gets hoisted up very quickly! Below is a picture of me getting ready to take off…..

Some other good news…..

I haven’t written since my last week of co-op, but I’m excited to report that I was offered a full time position at Deloitte upon graduation! This is such a relief to know that once I graduate I will be able to join one of the Big Four Firms with some fellow Northeasterners.

That is all for now….off to the dining hall!
